Finally Some Action

Both players seem unwilling to invest a lot of chips into the pot, but we just saw the biggest pot of the level.

On a {Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop it was Ville Mattila who bet 22,000 and Roger Hairabedian called. The turn was the {2-Spades} and Mattila fired out 48,000. Once again Hairabedian called.

The river brought out the {4-Spades} and now Mattila slowed down. He checked and Hairabedian put out a 100,000-chip bet. Mattila tanked for a bit, but eventually released his cards.

Hairabedian Grabs One

Ville Mattila raised to 25,000 from the button and Roger Hairabedian called. The flop was {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and both players checked. The {9-Spades} hit the turn and they both checked again.

The {8-Hearts} completed the board and Hairabedian bet 15,000. Mattila called but mucked his hand when he saw Hairabedian's {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for two pair.

Small Pots

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

We have seen another series of small pots at the start of the new level. Both players seem very cautious with their chips, and we have yet to see a three-bet pre flop. Both players seem very well aware of the fact that they are playing for a gold World Series of Poker Europe bracelet and the €142,590 first place prize.

Trading Pots

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Of the past ten hands, a majority of them began with a min-raise before the flop and they were checked down until one of the players bet. This bet would almost always take down the pot. It seems that both players are opting to keep the option small and are trying to pick their spots wisely.
