World Series of Poker Main Event October Niner Russell Thomas has recently been moved immediately to the left of the other October Niner left in the field, Jesse Sylvia. These two will be squaring off for the biggest prize in poker a little more than a mere month away from now, so being seated at the same table could be good practice and a chance to study one another.
Dan Smith opened for 3,600 under the gun and received a call from Barbara Martinez in the cutoff. Both players then checked the flop, and Smith tossed out a single grey T5,000 chip on the turn.
Martinez made the call and then watched Smith check the river. Martinez took her time before coming out with a big bet of 20,000, but Smith wasn't interested and snap-folded his hand.
And by that we don't mean that he's steadily grinding. Michael Mizrachi has just been eliminated after starting the day as chip leader, and Daniel Negreanu Tweeted about it.
Negreanu said that Mizrachi ran into , and that was it for the two-time $50,000 Players Championship winner.
On a flop, Joe Kuether fired 4,500 only to be raised to 13,000 by Joao Barbosa. Kuether called and the turned.
Kuether checked and Barbosa quickly checked right behind. The fell on the river and Kuether checked for a second time. Barbosa tapped the table too and showed for absolutely nothing. Kuether tabled and his pair of nines took the pot down.

With around 10,000 chips in the middle Sheikh bet 5,600 and his opponent raised to 20,000. Sheikh put in 50,000 afterw chich Baroukh moved all in for 77,700. Sheikh called.

The turn brought out the , and Baroukh hit his flush. The completed the board, and Baroukh doubled up. After the dealer was done counting Baroukh said the following.
"Thank your sir!" as he raked in this massive pot. Sheikh remained silent while Liv Boeree was in shock. She was stunned by Baroukh's comment, but Sheikh seemed unfazed by it.
From under the gun, Phil Hellmuth limped in. Robert Schiffbauer also limped from the hijack seat, then Kristijonas Andrulis raised to 6,000 on the button. Hellmuth called, and Schiffbauer folded.
The flop came down with Hellmuth having checked in the dark. Andrulis fired 5,000, but Hellmuth check-raised to 11,000.
"I'm gonna put my sunglasses on for this one," said Hellmuth as he waited for Andrulis to make a decision.
"Why would you do that?" replied Andrulis. He then called.
"Wow, the kid called!" said Hellmuth.
The turn was the , and Hellmuth checked. Andrulis tossed out 13,000. Hellmuth laughed, but in a disgusted manner and flipped over the as he folded. Andrulis slammed over the for a worse hand and laughed out loud at Hellmuth. This sent Hellmuth off a little bit.
"Wow! He came at me with nine-ten when I had the nut flush draw!" exclaimed Hellmuth. "In two hours you're gonna ask yourself, 'What did I do?' while you're in the taxi ride home and thinking about how you gave Phil all your chips."
Andrulis couldn't do much, but laugh. Later he added, "I just wish we could play tomorrow if I make it, at the same table."
