Reinkemeier Cracks The Million Mark

We just saw a German on German clash at the final table, and Tobias Reinkemeier came out on top.

Tobias Reinkemeier raised pre flop to 60,000 and Philipp Gruissem defended his big blind. The flop came down {K-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and both players checked.

On the turn the {5-Diamonds} hit, and Gruissem check-called a 80,000-chip bet. The river was the {3-Clubs} and now Gruissem bet 175,000. Reinkemeier tanked for over two minutes, but finally he tossed in two 100,000 chips in order to make the call.

Gruissem showed {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, but he lost to {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Reinkemeier jumps up in the chip counts as we are still with eight players.

Gruissem Keeps Climbing

On the flop the board read {9-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} when John Juanda checked from the big blind. Philipp Gruissem sat under the gun plus one, and he checked as well.

The turn brought the {6-Clubs} and Juanda flicked out a black and white 100,000 chip. Gruissem gave it some thought, and followed suit.

On the river the {5-Spades} hit and Juanda check-folded to a 175,000-chip bet. Gruissem keeps climbing the ranks and is second in chips now with Richard Yong.

Winfred Yu Bubbles €50,000 Majestic High Roller

Winfred Yu
Winfred Yu

Action folded to Philipp Gruissem in the hijack seat, and he raised to 500,000 to put the pressure on all of the short stacks left to act behind him. Play then folded to Winfred Yu in the small blind. With about 325,000 in chips, Yu called all in. Everyone else folded.

Yu showed the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and was up against the {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for Gruissem.

On the flop, Gruissem didn't hit, but he became a favorite as the {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades} fell. With straight and flush draws, plus two overcards, Gruissem needed to hit a jack, spade, ace or ten to win the pot.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, putting Yu one more card closer to the double up. The river was black, but it wasn't a spade. Still, it was the {10-Clubs} and that gave Gruissem a better pair to eliminate Yu in ninth place.

With only eight places paying, Yu became the official tournament bubble boy, andeEveryone remaining has locked up a minimum of €115,000.
