Juanda Claims a Double Knock Out

Talal Shakerchi was very short and moved all in for 55,000 under the gun plus one. John Juanda called from the cuttoff as did Jean-Noel Thorel from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and immediately Thorel moved all in for 310,000. The Frenchman had a big smile on his face while Juanda was making up his mind.

"I'm not sure if I'm disciplined enough to fold this," Juanda said. Moments later he made the call.

Showdown:
Talal Shakerchi: {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
John Juanda: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}, {J-Hearts} and Juanda knocked out two players.

Rough Times For Roger

Roger Hairabedian has just lost a whole lot more, and this time it was Steve O'Dwyer who took some of his chips.

The board read {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} when Hairabedian check-called a 85,000-chip bet. On the river the {K-Spades} hit and Hairabedian checked again. O'Dwyer threw out 134,000 and Hairabedian went into the tank for several minutes.

Many times he seemed to be close to calling, and eventually he did. O'Dwyer tabled {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and with a full house he took down this pot. Hairabedian looked far from happy as he saw his stack dwindle down a lot.

With the {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}, Steve O'Dwyer was all in for 218,000 against Sam Trickett and the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. A board of {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} kept O'Dwyer's jacks in front and gave him the double up.

Another Hit For Trickett, Yu Doubles

Winfred Yu was just all in from the small for 157,000 and Sam Trickett, who had probably raised, made the call from the button. On their backs.

Showdown:
Winfred Yu: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Sam Trickett: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and Yu survived the all in for his tournament life.

Yong Doubles

Marvin Rettenmaier and Richard Yong got all the money in preflop with Rettenmaier holding the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} to Yong's pocket jacks. The board ran out {Q-}{9-}{3-}{3-}{10-} and Yong doubled up. He was all in for 347,000 and now has over 700,000.

Watson Finds Aces

Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Roger Hairabedian raised to 28,000 and Mike Watson moved all in over the top for 212,000. The action was folded back around to the Frenchman who called immediately.

Showdown:
Roger Hairabedian: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Mike Watson: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and Watson survived. Hairabedian took a hit, but he's still well above the average stack.

Thorel Beats Juanda

On a {4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop John Juanda check-called a 65,000-chip bet from the small blind. Jean-Noel Thorel was in the hijack and he took another stab on the turn when the {8-Clubs} showed up. Juanda folded and the Frenchman took down this pot. He's been chipping up nicely while Juanda dropped some.
