Foxen Shoves Into Desset

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

While the players keep on busting rather quickly, some in the middle of the pack are fighting to make it through to Day 2 with an average stack. One of them is Alex Foxen, who also competes for vital points towards the Player of the Year race.

Foxen bet a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for 2,300 and Dominik Desset called on the button. After the {K-Diamonds} turn, Foxen made it 5,700 to go and Desset called before Foxen emptied the clip by jamming the {9-Clubs} river for 15,500. Desset was in the think tank for quite some time and Ivan Baric called the clock on him, which saw 30 seconds run down to zero without any decision.

Desset's cards were dead and Foxen chipped up before their table broke right after.

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Aleksandar Tomovic
Aleksandar Tomovic

With around 8,000 in the pot and the board reading {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}, the action was checked to Pedro Oliveira in the cutoff. He fired out a bet of 3,800 and Aleksandar Tomovic called from the big blind.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Tomovic led out for 8,000. Oliveira made the call and the {4-Diamonds} landed on the river. Tomovic bet another 12,000 and Oliveira called again. Tomovic turned over {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Oliveira mucked his cards.

No Cash for Hellmuth in the MONSTER STACK

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Phil Hellmuth and Giovanni Petroni
Phil Hellmuth and Giovanni Petroni

The seat of Phil Hellmuth was empty and the 14-time bracelet winner will have to wait until the next event at King's Casino to take another shot at the elusive 15th bracelet. As confirmed by Giovanni Petroni and Georgios Zisimopoulos, it was Petroni who sent the Poker Brat to the rail.

According to Petroni, Hellmuth raised to 2,500 from the cutoff and Petroni three-bet to 7,800 on the button before Hellmuth shoved for 27,000. Petroni called with {A-}{Q-} to see Hellmuth turn over {A-}{K-}. Petroni got there with top two pair on the flop before turn and river bricked off.

Petroni then grew his stack far bigger when he flopped a set of eights to crack the pocket aces of Dominik Arnold.

Benjamin Garcia Rivera Wins a Three-Way All-In

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On a flop reading {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, the chips started to fly between three players at the table. All the chips got were in the middle and the cards were tabled.

Benjamin Garcia Rivera: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
David Mackenzie: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Opponent: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Two players flopped a set and it was Rivera with the nut flush draw. The {3-Spades} on the turn changed nothing but the {7-Diamonds} on the river gave Rivera his flush. Rivera nearly tripled up to over 80,000, Mackenzie was left on the short stack, and the third player was sent to the rail.

Gulas and Stewart Among Big Stacks

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Once the action folded to Scott Stewart on the button, he simply open-raised to 25,000, having both players in the blinds covered. Two folds followed and the small pot was shipped to Stewart, who moves closer to six digits.

Josef Gulas is already there two tables over. The Czech bet a flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} from the hijack and the button raised to 8,100. Gulas eyed the stack of his opponent, who had another 28,100 behind, and moved all in to claim the pot uncontested.

Jobmann Gets Flushed Out

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Jan Timo Jobmann
Jan Timo Jobmann

Anatoliy Zyrin raised to 2,000 and Christian Arstad called on the button, Jan Timo Jobmann then shoved for 7,000 from the small blind. Zyrin reraised to 23,000 and kept 3,800 behind to see Arstad call. Zyrin announced a check in the dark and Arstad checked behind the {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. After the {K-Spades} turn, Zyrin moved all in and Arstad called it off.

Jan Timo Jobmann: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Anatoliy Zyrin: {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Christian Arstad: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

"Nuts," Zyrin announced as he rolled over his made flush while Valentin Vornicu asked how he even got into that hand. The {4-Clubs} river was already meaningless and Jobmann departed, as did everyone else right after when the table broke.

Two Pots for Hellmuth

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Alex Foxen raised to 1,800 and Phil Hellmuth three-bet to 7,000 with some 5,000 behind. Foxen folded and Hellmuth claimed the pot.

Soon after, Georgios Zisimopoulos opened to 1,700 and Hellmuth shoved to force yet another fold. While raking in the pot, Hellmuth flashed {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and moved almost back to starting stack.
