Tomovic Eliminates Karmatckii

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Aleksandar Tomovic opened to 12,000 from early position and Arsenii Karmatckii ripped all-in for 66,500 on the button. The action was back on Tomovic who thought for a couple minutes and eventually called as players were about to head on a break.

Tomovic: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Karmatckii: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Karmatckii couldn't find any help on the board of {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and he was sent to the payout desk. In the very last hand of the level one table over, Ivo Donev ran out of chips, too, and the field was reduced to the last 75 hopefuls.

Miri and Kamphues Eliminated

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Sergio Fernandez doubled up Milan Topoly for 43,000 when his {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} ended up second best to the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} of Topoly.

Soon after Timo Kamphues was all in with ace-queen as well and Fernandez called with the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. This time the board came {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Kamphues was elimated.

One table over, Hamza Miri got his short stack in with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and maciej Kondraszuk called with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The board of {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} failed to improve Miri and he also joined the rail.

Ismael Bojang

Soon after the money bubble had burst in spectacular fashion, the all in calls came fast and furios. Richard Pfeffer was all in for 60,000 with pocket jacks and Ismael Bojang called with the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. The board came {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and that was it for Pfeffer. At almost the same time, Benjamin Garcia Rivera, Jesper Mertz and Alexander Schlien all busted as well.

Money Bubble Erupts!

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Bubble bursting in Event #1 Monster Stack
Bubble bursting in Event #1 Monster Stack

After three short stacks doubled up, there was an all-in and call on four different tables. On the first table, Viktor Katzenberger was all-in with {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and was up against Giovanni Petroni who held {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Katzenberger was the first casualty.

On the next table over, Carlo Savinelli doubled up with {a-}{a-} against Valentin Vornicu's {a-}{k-}. Savinelli was all-in for roughly 145,000 and now sits with one of the larger stacks in the tournament.

Then we came to Mario Mosböck who was all in for 62,500 with the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Ricardo Chauriye looked him up with the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. The board ran out {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Mosböck became the second casualty in the same hand, ensuring that Katzenberger would not leave empty-handed.

Finally, on the last table, the board read {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. The pot had around 100,000 in the middle and there were three hands waiting to be tabled. Konstantinos Tsirakidis rolled over {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and was the player at risk. Ivo Donev tabled {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Serge Danis held the best hand with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Tsirakidis was the third player eliminated on the money bubble which would mean Katzenberger, Mosbock, and Tsirakidis would share two payout positions.

Morstad Doubles on the Bubble

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Thomas Morstad raised from the hijack and picked up two callers in Sander van Wesemael on the button and Milan Topoly in the big blind. The flop fell {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Topoly checked, Morstad bet 12,000 and van Wesemael raised to 29,000. Topoly called that bet and Morstad then moved all in for 77,000.

Milan Topoly: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The {3-Diamonds} turn and {K-Diamonds} river failed to improve Topoly and Morstad doubled on the money bubble.
