Hellmuth Busts Shy of the Money

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth was dwindled down to just 10,000 to start the hand and the action was folded around to him in the small blind. He raised to 8,000 and Tony Lefort re-raised to put Hellmuth all-in. Hellmuth called and the hands were tabled.

Tony Lefort: {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Phil Hellmuth: {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts} giving Lefort a straight and sending Hellmuth to the rail. Hellmuth didn't wander too far as he continued to pace back and forth on the tournament floor with his hands flailing while he talked to himself.

Three More Down

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Sergio Fernandez
Sergio Fernandez

The money bubble is approaching soon as three further players were eliminated in Sergio Fernandez, Muhamet Perati and Bernard Larabi.

Fernandez was all in before the flop out of the big blind and received calls by Andrej Desset and Ognjen Sekularac. It was Sekularac that bet the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} river for 50,000 and Desset eventually folded, claiming he had {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}. Sekularac flashed {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a full house and Fernandez mucked {K-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Bernard Larabi got his last 65,000 in with the {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} from the cutoff and Thorsten Schuler called from the big blind with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. The board came {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades} and that was it for the Hungarian.

Bye Waves Goodbye

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jorn Eriksrub Bye moved all in for his last 22,500 from under the gun and Tony Lefort called from the big blind.

Jorn Eriksrub Bye: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Tony Lefort: {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Bye waved goodbye not to far off the money.

Jan Bednar three-bet an open raise by Stoyan Obreshkov to 22,500 on the button. Obreshkov made it 52,500 to go and Bednar moved all in to force a fold.

Desset's Hand Keeps Improving

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Andrej Desset
Andrej Desset

After arriving at the table in the middle of a big pot between Sergio Fernandez and Andrej Desset, it was Fernandez who had a bet of 36,500 in front of him. The board read {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Desset took his time to make a decision. He eventually announced all-in for 103,500 and it was Fernandez's turn to think.

He took off his sunglasses and tried to study his opponent. After a minute, Fernandez stuck in some chips to call and Desset turned over {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Desset flopped a straight and improved to a flush on the turn. Fernandez instantly tossed his cards to the muck and was left with only a few big blinds.

Targa Busts in Cruel Fashion

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Petr Targa was all in and at risk for some 40,000 with the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and Iurie Cudrinschi looked him up with the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Cudrinschi took the lead on the {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop but Targa picked up the nut flush draw. A {K-Clubs} on the turn gave Targa the lead before the cruel {10-Clubs} river improved Cudrinschi to trips tens.

Obreshkov Pushes Into Lisiy

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Start-of-the-day chip leader Ryan Leng busted before the end of the previous level while Pascal Pflock got value from Milan Simko on the river of a board {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Pflock bet 24,600 and Simko called to muck when being shown {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush.

The last hand in the corner table took far longer. Stoyan Obreshkov check-called a bet of 21,500 out of the big blind on the {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} turn by Sergey Lisiy and checked again the {A-Hearts} on the river. Lisiy bet 42,000 and Obreshkov check-shoved for 104,000. After spending ten minutes in the think tank, Lisiy folded with five minutes left on the break.

Hughes Fired All Three Streets

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Ryan Hughes opened to 7,000 from under the gun and Iurie Cudrinschi called from the big blind with the largest stack on the table. The flop came {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Cudrinschi check-called a bet of 10,300 from Hughes.

The turn paired the board with the {j-Clubs} and Cudrinschi checked again. Hughes fired another 20,300 and Cudrinschi called. The {k-Diamonds} completed the board and Cudrinschi checked for the third time. Hughes immediately tossed in a bet of 45,000 and Cudrinschi went into the tank for a couple minute. The clock was eventually called, forcing Cudrinschi to act on his hand and he finally called. Hughes turned over {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Cudrinschi's cards went to the muck.

Twito Runs Into Two Big Hands

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Liran Twito
Liran Twito

Sergio Fernandez raised to 6,500 from the hijack and Liran Twito three-bet to 17,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Fernandez who made the call and the flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Both players checked to the {j-Hearts} on the turn and the {9-Diamonds} on the river. Fernandez made a large bet of 27,000 on the river and Twito called. Fernandez turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and Twito mucked his hand.

In the next hand, Twito got his remaining 81,000 in the middle holding {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} but ran into the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} of chip leader, Luis Dono. The board ran out {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and just like that, Twito was eliminated before the money bubble.
