Welcome to Day 1 of Event #4: €1,650 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed

Makarios Avramidis

Day 1 of Event #4: €1,650 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed is set to start today at 3 p.m. local time. Back in 2015 Makarios Avramidis did a lot of firsts. It was the first ever World Series of Poker bracelet to be awarded on German soil, it was his first ever bracelet and the first one for Greece. First prize was €105,000 but it was a €2,200 buy-in with 197 entries in total.

Avramidis hasn’t been spotted here yet but Paul Michaelis is here. He finished third last time so is expected to be playing today. The two other players who also made deep runs in 2015 and have already been playing here in King’s Casino are 6-times and 4-times bracelet winners, Jeff Lisandro and Max Pescatori. They will be taking their seats today to try and better their previous results.

The battle for Player of the Year is still going, after John Racener’s sixth place finish yesterday in the Turbo Bounty Hunter, he has an even better shot at top spot now. But Chris Ferguson, Ryan Hughes and Alex Foxen are not just going to stand by and watch. They will be fighting furiously too. Other expected notables expected in the field today include Felipe Ramos, Kristen Bicknell, Brandon Cantu, Erik Cajelais, James Akenhead, Maxim Lykov, Ryan Leng and Walter Treccarichi.

This is a three-day event, players entering the event will receive 30,000 in tournament chips. Levels will be 40 minutes long with a 20-minute break after every three levels today. Fourteen levels of play are scheduled for today with registration open through the whole day until Day 2 starts tomorrow at 2 p.m. local time with 1 reentry allowed during that period. A 60-minute dinner break will take place after Level 8 which will be around 9 p.m.
