Ramaty Doubles Through, Busts Gegic

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Dror Ramaty bet 3,500 on a board of {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades} from the button and then called off his remaining 3,700 after Rifat Gegic put him all in from the cutoff.

Ramaty: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Gegic: {9-}{9-}

Gegic was dismayed to see the bullets and Ramaty held against the two-outer on the {3-Hearts} river.

The next hand, Gegic shoved his last 525 in over an open to 150 and Ramaty, the big blind and the opener all called. The opener fired 600 on the {4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and got action from both active opponents. On the {a-Diamonds} turn, he bet 1,200 and only Ramaty stuck around. Both players checked the {6-Clubs} and Ramaty's {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} took it, with the opener mucking {9-Spades}{6-Spades} and Gegic {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

Turn Freezes the Action

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

We came upon a raising war between Richard Pfeffer, in the cutoff, and an opponent on the button, with {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} on the felt. The player on the button had about 1,200 on front of him and was staring at a raise to 2,750 from Pfeffer. That player called, and the turn brought a {j-Spades}. Both players checked. They did likewise on the {6-Clubs} river.

Pfeffer rolled over {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and his opponent double-checked his hole cards with a sigh, then open-mucked {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

Welcome to Day 1b of Event #5: THE COLOSSUS - €550 No-Limit Hold'em

WSOP Europe
WSOP Europe

It's just a few short years old, but any time the World Series of Poker fires up — be it in Europe, Las Vegas or anywhere else — The Colossus is certainly one of the most anticipated events on the schedule. There are 10 starting flights this time around and a €2 million guarantee for the €550 buy-in.

One flight is winding down, and it's time for another flight to get rolling as Day 1b is set to kick off as the dying embers of Day 1a flicker out and the chips go in the bags for the players who remain in the event.

Just like Day 1a and all of the rest of the flights for this event, the schedule calls for either 18 levels lasting 30 minutes apiece or play down to wherever Day 1a ends, which appears likely to bag before the scheduled levels. Players get 10,000 chips in their starting stacks and they may reenter once per flight. Breaks will be every four levels and last 20 minutes apiece.

Stay tuned to PokerNews coverage here at King's Casino as this marquee event continues to unfold.
