Burneikis Holds on with Aces

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

There was a raise to 4,000 from middle position and Vladas Burneikis three-bet to 8,000 directly to his left. The action folded back around to the original raiser who four-bet shoved all-in. Burneikis instantly called for his remaining 31,400 and the cards were tabled.

Burneikis turned over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} and his opponent held {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. The flop came {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Burneikis was still out front with his pair of aces. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and the river landed the {8-Hearts}. Burneikis held on with his two pair and doubled up.

Tomovic Finds a Premium Hand

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Aleksandar Tomovic was sitting just under the average chips but woke up with a premium hand. He managed to get all of his chips in the middle against the largest chip stack on his table holding {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}. His opponent turned over {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and Tomovic was in great position to double up.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Tomovic was still in the lead. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn left his opponent drawing dead to the {a-Clubs} on the river. Tomovic found a full double up and is now poised to make the money with just 41 players remaining.

Baumann Doubles Up with Aces

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

There was a raise to 2,600 from early position and Richard Baumann called from middle position. The flop came {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and the player in early position led out for 3,500. Baumann quickly moved all-in for 10,000 and his opponent called just as fast.

Baumann: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Opponent: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The turn was the {q-Clubs} giving Baumann's opponent a flush draw but the {6-Hearts} on the river dodged everything. Baumann scored the double up to stay alive on Day 1C.

Bstieler Calls Down

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Peter Bstieler opened to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by the hijack and the small blind. The flop fell {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Bstieler continued for 2,500. The hijack called and the small blind folded.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and Bstieler checked to his opponent who bet 4,000. Bstieler called and the river landed the {j-Clubs}. Bstieler checked again and his opponent fired another 6,000. Bstieler sighed and made the call as his opponent showed {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for just queen-high. Bstieler turned over {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and was shipped the pot.
