Donev Calls With Ace-King High and Is Good

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

With quite some chips in the middle, the flop showed {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Thomas Kastenhuber moved all in against action by Ivo Donev. The latter called and flipped over {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}, while Kastenhuber only had {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the open-ended straight draw. The {2-Hearts} turn and {2-Spades} river were both blanks and Donev raked in a juicy pot.

Heidel Starts Hot and Busts Two

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante
Oliver Heidel
Oliver Heidel

The first seat open was on the table of Oliver Heidel and the German had indeed raked in the massive pot. Both Heidel and Karel Chaloupka flopped a flush draw and the third heart on the turn saw the stacks go in. Heidel held {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Chaloupka the {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to result in the first casualty of the day.

Rene Wullbrand followed soon after, and again it was Heidel that had the best of it. Wullbrand flopped top two with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Heidel had bottom set with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} on a board of {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{J-Diamonds}.

Early Pot for Mrakes

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Joining the action on the {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, the player in the small blind and Michal Mrakes in the big blind invested 500 each with some 1,100 in the middle already. The {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn and the small blind checked. Mrakes now bet 1,000 and his opponent eventually folded.

Mrakes came close at bagging up a stack for Day 2 last night but was eventually eliminated in the penultimate level of Day 1d.
