Snejberg Wins Against Battaglia

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Josef Snejberg called the three-bet of Antonio Battaglia in the small blind for 9,300 after Snejberg himself had raised in the hijack.

They both checked through the {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Clubs} on the flop to the {5-Hearts} on the turn. Battaglia bet 7,000 and Snejberg called.

The river completed the board with the {4-Hearts} and they both checked again. Battaglia tabled {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} for ace-high and was bested by Snejberg's {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} who had flopped a pair of tens.

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Two hands in a row, there was an all in showdown over on table 138 and as a result, two players were eliminated in quick succession.

First off it was Kurt Schuetzenmeier that jammed for 25,100 on the three-way flop of {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Mirza Meskic called on the button.

Kurt Schuetzenmeier: {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Mirza Meskic: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board completed with the {8-Hearts} turn and {K-Spades} river to eliminate Schuetzenmeier.

Right after, Yunsheng Sun and Henry Klitzner clashed with near identical stacks and the latter was the player at risk with the {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Sun had {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and the board came {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{6-Clubs} and the pair of tens held up for Sun, who had the covering stack with 39,400.

Alt Doubles Through Kakoishvili

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Chandru Alt raised to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Nika Kakoishvili in the hijack, Jan Bednar, and Georgios Koliofotis in the blinds.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, both Bednar and Koliofotis checked. Alt continued with a bet of 2,400 and only Kakoishvili called.

The turn was the {q-Spades} and now Alt fired a bet of 9,000 over the line which Kakoishvili called.

The river completed the board with the {10-Clubs}, Alt now opted to check and Kakoishvili shoved. Alt tanked but ended up making the call. Kakoishvili hesitated and then slowly opened {10-Spades}{6-Spades} for two pair, tens and fours, with the queen-kicker on the board. Alt flipped over {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for the same two pair but the higher king-kicker in the hand to double up for the 26,700 he had in front of him. The rest of the table all laughed and joked around but Kakoishvili didn't show much of a response.

Nemtsov Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On the heads-up turn of {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}, Aleksandr Nemtsov checked over to Gaetan Cariou and the Frenchman bet 8,800 into a pot of 18,500. Nemtsov was having none of it and check-raised all in, which prompted Cariou to ask for a count.

The all in of Nemtsov was for 45,900 and that proved to be too much for Cariou. With a cheeky grin, Nemtsov raked in the pot and flashed the {Q-Spades}.

Soon after, Nemtsov defended his big blind against the player in the cutoff and check-called a bet of 6,200 on the {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop. The {q-Hearts} turn was checked and Nemtsov bet the {6-Diamonds} river for 13,000. His opponent folded and Nemtsov chipped up further without showdown.

In the meanwhile, fellow countryman Anatolii Zyrin entered only a few minutes before the end of the registration period.
