Barkat Busts to Mandl

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On a turn of {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Matan Barkat ended up all in and at risk with {9-}{8-} for the up and down straight draw. Michael Mandl called with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} for trips tens and the {5-Clubs} river was a blank.

Hanan Barzel followed soon after and met countryman Barkat at the payout desk.

Kessler Busts Ibrahimi

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Ahmed Ibrahimi moved all in for five big blinds on the button and Allen Kessler reshoved from the small blind. Yaron Kuznik in the big blind asked for a count and folded when it was deemed to be 106,000 in total to call for Kessler's all in.

Ahmed Ibrahimi: {A-Spades}{2-Spades}
Allen Kessler: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

There was no upset on the board of {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Kessler edged closer to a playable stack for Day 2.

Sancak Cracks Aces

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Ersin Sancak was already all in and Nicolas Pilato called all in for less, big stack Piotr Wiecek came along to put two players at risk.

Ersin Sancak: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Nicolas Pilato: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}
Piotr Wiecek: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The board brought {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Sancak spiked a five to almost triple up, sending Pilato to the rail.

The First Bustouts in the Money

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Peter Kamaras was first to leave with a min-cash and he was followed by Agostino Ascone and Johnny Oestbjerg. The latter three-bet shoved for around 50,000 into a raise by Markus Sturz and was snap-called.

Johnny Oestbjerg: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Markus Sturz: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The board of {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} brought little reason for excitement for Oestbjerg and he collected €801 for his efforts.

Leonardo Armino Bubbles Day 1H

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Leonardo Armino
Leonardo Armino

In the second hand of hand-for-hand mode, Leonardo Armino was all in for 148,000 on the {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop and Markus Sturz had looked him up. Once all other tables were finished, the cards were turned over.

Leonardo Armino: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Markus Sturz: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The {A-Diamonds} turn sent Armino from hero to almost zero and he had just one out left. It wasn't meant to be, as the blank {4-Diamonds} river failed to improve the Dutchman. Armino has thus become the bubble boy of the final flight and action will recommence shortly after one table breaks.

Two Double Ups in First Hand

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Daniel Wuyts shoved for 50,000 and Frank Seifert called out of the big blind.

Wuyts tabled the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and was trailing the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} of Seifert. However, the board came {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Wuyts doubled.

At the same time on another table, Cesare Raso had raised from early position and Hanan Barzel ended up all in from the button for 17,000.

Hanan Barzel: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Cesare Raso: {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

There was a big sweat after the {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop, but the {9-Clubs} turn and {2-Diamonds} river were both blanks.

Down to 127 Players

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Balazs Toth raised and Michele Casaburi moved all in for 62,000. Toth asked for a count and tossed in the calling chips.

Michele Casaburi: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Balazs Toth: {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Toth's two pair sent Casaburi to the rail. Shortly after, another player was eliminated and that reduced the field to the last 127 hopefuls. Action will now continue hand-for-hand on the money bubble.
