Le Busts Sansar

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

When the floorman was called and the clock called on Cengiz Sansar, there had been a reraise to 30,000 in front of Sansar and a four-bet to 60,000 by Thanh Le. Sansar was given half a minute to make up his mind and with a few seconds left he said "I call," prompting both players to turn over their cards.

Cengiz Sansar: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Thanh Le: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board came {Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Sansar failed to improve. Once the hand was over, though, some confusion started and Sansar argued that he had more chips than the 60,000 reraise. Indeed he had another 500 chip left and the floor was called once more. As both players had tabled their cards, it was deemed to be accepted an action to be all in, and Sansar was eliminated.

Roller Coaster Run Out for Sturz

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Timo Kamphues
Timo Kamphues

With already 50,000 in the middle and the flop showing {K-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}, Markus Sturz ended up all in and at risk for the last 71,500. He was called by Timo Kamphues and the showdown was as follows:

Markus Sturz: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Timo Kamphues: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}

Kamphues spiked the {J-Hearts} on the turn to improve to kings and jacks, but the {5-Diamonds} river counterfeited the hand to let Sturz double in dramatic fashion.

Next Batch of Casualties Before the Money

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

There are only 138 players remaining and among the most recently departed was also Radu Pitic. He had a stack of nearly two times the average not long ago but has since been eliminated. It appears that Michael Mandl has taken care of the chips and Milan Skacel has crossed half a million in chips.

Stanel Loses Flip to Hajek

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Iulian Stanel had moved all in for 67,500 from the cutoff and Tomas Hajek in the big blind gave it plenty of consideration. He opted to call eventually and it was a flip for the tournament life of Stanel.

Iulian Stanel: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Tomas Hajek: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

On a board of {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, Hajek improved to a pair jacks and that was it for Stanel.

Kessler Gets There on the River

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Alessio Soriano raised to 10,000 and Giorgi Mevlupishvili called from one seat over in the cutoff. Allen Kessler moved all in for 63,500 and Soriano quickly tossed in a single chip for the call. Mevlupishvili only thought about it for half a minute and folded the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} face up.

Allen Kessler: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Alessio Soriano: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

"I gotta win one of these once in my life," Kessler said in table chat before the flop came {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

"Maybe not," Kessler added and the {6-Diamonds} fell on the turn.

The board completed with the {A-Spades} river and Kessler locked up the double.

Cirianno Eliminated by Chuennirun

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Francesco Cirianni had tripled not long ago but remained among the short stacks and just ended up all in and at risk with the {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Teeranan Chuennirun looked him up with the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and hit two pair on the {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} board to send the Italian to the rail.
