Bujtas Bests Netaliev

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up the action in a three-bet pot and on the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Laszlo Bujtas bet 17,000 out of the big blind and Oleg Netaliev called from early position. The {K-Spades} on the turn slowed down the action and both players checked, then did so again on the {7-Clubs} river. Bujtas turned over the {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and that was good enough to claim the pot.

Kessler Eliminates Eibinger for Good

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

The action folded to Matthias Eibinger who raised it up on the button. Allen Kessler three-bet from the small blind and Eibinger four-bet shoved all in, putting his new stack of around 100,000 to work. Kessler quickly made the call and the cards were on their backs.

Allen Kessler: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Matthias Eibinger: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Kessler held a dominant preflop advantage and the flop of {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} never changed anything. The {2-Spades} on the turn gave Kessler a bit of a sweat as Eibinger picked up a flush draw, but the {a-Hearts} on the river bricked off. This was Eibinger's second bullet of the day and he is no longer allowed to re-enter.

Shabalin Doubles Through Soyza

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Vladimir Shabalin
Vladimir Shabalin

Vladimir Shabalin ended up all in and risk after four-bet shoving and three-bettor Michael Soyza called on the button. The {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop was a sweat for Shabalin with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, as Soyza had {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a pair and gutshot.

The {8-Diamonds} turn and {7-Diamonds} river were both blanks, yet Shabalin was ready to leave.

"I win?" he asked and Soyza nodded. "I thought you made the flush," Shabalin continued while sitting back down and stacking the chips, as he had doubled for 34,600.

Skopalik Leads; Bickley Doubles With Quads

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Robert Skopalik
Robert Skopalik

Wai Leong Chan is no longer in the lead as he took a massive blow against Robert Skopalik when he ran with kings into aces. Skopalik had spades covered and turned the nut flush, the ace on the river was already insignificant.

Another interesting hand played out soon after on the same table. In a battle of the blinds, the flop showed {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Robert Bickley bet 6,000 into 14,000 out of the small blind. Xixiang Luo raised to 13,500 and Bickley clicked it back to 32,000, Luo called. On the {K-Spades} turn, Bickley moved all in for 59,400 and Luo called after he had asked for a count.

Robert Bickley: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Xixiang Luo: {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The {5-Clubs} was a formality as Bickley had locked up the double with quads already. One year ago, Bickley finished 4th in the 2017 WSOPE Main Event and will aim for another deep run once more.

Weis Holds With the Higher Cards

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ming Xi raised to 2,000 from the hijack and Oliver Weis three-bet to 7,500 on the button. Anatolii Vasilev shoved from the small blind for 43,900. Xi considered it for a bit but then folded. Weis checked the amount and then called.

Anatolii Vasilev: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Oliver Weis: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs} for Weis to hold with the higher cards to eliminate Vasilev from the tournament.

Schwippert Takes Round Two

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Three players saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and the action was on James Rann in the big blind. He checked to Alex Foxen on his left who bet 6,800. Jan-Eric Schwippert just called and Rann got out of the way.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Foxen fired in another bet of 21,500. Schwippert still called and the {5-Clubs} completed the board. Foxen barrelled another 33,000 and Schwippert instantly threw in a single chip to call. Foxen showed {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a missed flush draw and Schwippert tabled {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} to win the pot.

Geshkenbein Back on Track After Double Knockout

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The flop showed {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Vitaliy Bykov had bet 57,000 with few chips behind. Stefan Schillhabel moved all in for 104,700 and Vladimir Geshkenbein from one seat over gave it some thought, then called. Bykov also called all in and the cards were turned over.

Vitaliy Bykov: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Stefan Schillhabel: {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Vladimir Geshkenbein: {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

"That's not good," Geshkenbein said as he saw the cards of Schillhabel. However, the {9-Hearts} turn immediately secured the double knockout for the Swiss with Russian roots, and the {2-Clubs} river was a formality.

Geshkenbein discussed the hand with another player after and mentioned "I have to call 100 to win a lot, and would have had 140 left if I lose."
