Filatov Loses Small Hand

Level 15 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Anatoly Filatov has been raising from almost every position without getting much resistance during the bubble but in this hand, he raised to 400,000 from the cutoff and was called by both Matthias Eibinger on the button and Daniel Pidun in the small blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, Pidun check-called the 600,000 continuation-bet of Filatov while Eibinger folded.

They both checked through the {9-Spades} on the turn to the {10-Hearts} on the river. Both players checked again for Pidun to scoop the pot with {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} for two pair, kings and tens.

Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

First, Christoph Vogelsang raised to 480,000 from the button and Anatoly Filatov three-bet to 2,200,000 in the big blind. Vogelsang took some time and when there were 2 seconds left on the shot clock, Vogelsang announced he was all-in. Filatov contemplated for a few seconds and then opted to fold.

Then Vogelsang raised to 430,000 from the cutoff and Filatov three-bet to 2,200,000 in the small blind. Matthias Eibinger folded his big blind and Vogelsang made the call.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, Filatov continued with a bet of 1,300,000 and Vogelsang responded with a raise to 2,700,000. Filatov considered his options and then made the call.

They both checked through the {k-Spades} on the turn and the {6-Clubs} on the river. Filatov tabled {a-Hearts}{5-Spades} for the flopped pair of fives but he was beat by Vogelsang who held {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} to scoop the pot.

One for Ivey

Level 15 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Phil Ivey raised to 400,000 from the button and Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet to 1,500,000 in the big blind which Ivey called.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, Thorel fired a bet of 2,000,000 over the line and Ivey called.

The turn was the {10-Spades}, Thorel now bet 500,000 and Ivey called again.

The river completed the board with the {k-Diamonds}, both players checked and Thorel showed he held {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for the rivered pair of kings. Ivey quickly flipped over {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for the flopped pair of aces to claim the pot.

Phil Ivey: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Sam Grafton: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

The flop fell {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Ivey paired his ace to take the lead. The {a-Clubs} on the turn left Grafton drawing to just two outs. The {k-Hearts} completed the board and Grafton was eliminated on the money bubble.

Eibinger Double Up Leaves Ivey Short

Level 16 : 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante

Matthias Eibinger opened to 560,000 in middle position and Ole Schemion called from the small blind. Phil Ivey made it 2,500,000 from the big blind and Eibinger shipped all in for 13,745,000. Schemion quickly folded and Ivey asked for a count before making the call.

Matthias Eibinger: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Phil Ivey: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} to provide a sweat as Ivey hit a pair of kings. The {7-Spades} on the turn was a brick and the {2-Hearts} on the river also changed nothing. Eibinger scored a huge double up and Ivey fell to the short stack at the table.
