Vrubel Flops Top Set

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Stefan Raschbauer just got his seat at the table after registering during the break and raised it up to 800 in early position. He was called by the player on his left only to have Shraga Vrubel three-bet to 3,400 in the hijack. The action folded back to Raschbauer who made the call.

The two players saw a flop of {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and they both checked to the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Raschbauer flicked in a bet of 6,000 and Vrubel shoved all in. Raschbauer quickly dumped his cards in the muck and Vrubel showed his {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Two Raises from Dahan

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Milan Maly bet 3,000 from the cutoff into a pot of around 4,000. Koren Dahan raised to 7,700 on the button and Maly called.

The river was the {10-Clubs} and Maly led out again for 6,000 this time. Dahan thought for a minute before raising again to 14,700 this time. Maly wasted little time before dispatching his cards and Dahan picked up the pot.

Zhou Goes for Broke

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

In a three-bet pot with around 7,000 in the middle, the dealer fanned the flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Juergen Hammer checked in early position and Quan Zhou bet 3,500 in the cutoff. Hammer called and the {2-Clubs} paired the board on the turn.

Hammer checked again and Zhou fired out another bet of 7,500. Hammer still called and the {6-Clubs} completed the board. Hammer checked for the third time and Zhou pushed all in for just over 20,000. Hammer thought for a brief moment but decided to let his cards go.

Fedor Running Up a Stack

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Five players saw a flop of {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and the action checked around to Ivan Fedor on the button. Fedor bet 4,300 into a pot of around 6,000 and Pavel Sourek check-raised to 10,000 from the big blind. The action folded back to Fedor who shoved all in and Sourek called off roughly a starting stack.

Ivan Fedor: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Pavel Sourek: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Fedor flopped a set of eights but Sourek still had outs with a two-way straight draw. The {j-Clubs} paired the board on the turn to give Fedor a full house and Sourek was drawing dead to the {j-Hearts} on the river.

Campbell Eliminates Neuville for the Second Time

Level 7 : 300/500, 500 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

It was a rough go for Pierre Neuville on Day 1d as he just registered the tournament prior to the first break. However, he was quickly forced to use his one re-entry and that one didn't go so well either.

On a flop of {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, he got his chips in the middle against Robert Campbell. Unfortunately for Neuville, Campbell flopped a set of fives with {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Neuville's cards were already in the muck on the {j-Hearts}, {9-Diamonds} runout and Campbell scooped the pot. Neuville will have to wait for the night flight for another shot at running up a stack.

Top Pair is Good for Dobias

Level 7 : 300/500, 500 ante

Three players saw a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} with around 4,000 in the middle. Rene Heinricher led out for 3,000 from the big blind and was called by Jakub Dobias and Mikis Kalaidzidis. The turn brought the {6-Hearts} and Heinricher shoved all in for 18,400. Dobias flicked in a chip to call and Kalaidzidis got out of the way.

Heinricher turned over {8-Spades}{6-Spades} for a pair and straight draw but Dobias held {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a bigger pair and the same straight draw. The {2-Spades} on the river changed nothing and Dobias eliminated Heinricher to collect a healthy pot.
