Event #3: €1,350 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold'em
Day 1b Started
The second starting flight which is Day 1b of Event #3: €1,350 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold’em will kick off at 2 p.m. local time here at the King’s Resort. Day 1a attracted 174 entries all vying for their share of the €551,750 guaranteed prize pool and one of the five WSOPE Main Event tickets which will be given to the top five finishers in the tournament.
Aleksandr Merzhvinskii claimed the Day 1a chip lead with 1,255,000 in chips and has Thai Ha following him in the chip counts as the only other player bag more than ten times the starting stack. Ha collected 1,035,000 in chips throughout the day to give him an excellent start for Day 2.
Shaun Deeb and Robert Campbell are heading the WSOP POY race and have both bagged for Day 2 already. Third in the race is Daniel Negreanu who unfortunately didn’t find a bag, he might be back today to try again if he doesn’t decide to jump into one of the other events first. With many familiar faces already through to Day 2 and the later starting days at any event at the King’s Resort traditionally busier than the first, Day 1b is expected to attract even more entries than Day 1a.
Players will once again get 100,000 in chips for their €1,350 buy-in, play 40-minute levels with a 15-minute break after every three levels. A 60-minute dinner break is scheduled after Level 9 with the late registration and reentry period closing at the start of Level 13. Only one reentry is allowed per flight. According to the original structure, play would end when there would be 15% left of the field, but this was changed to 20% to shorten the day a bit. This will also be the case for Day 1b and Day 1c.
Stick around as the PokerNews live reporting team will be roaming the tournament floor for all the exciting hands and bring you the updates until the final players leave the tournament area.
