Kempe Takes From Phua

Level 1 : 10,000/20,000, 10,000 ante

Ryan Riess made it 45,000 to go and Paul Phua in the small blind three-bet to 155,000, which Riess called. On a {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Phua made it 125,000 to go and Riess folded.

The very next hand, Rainer Kempe opened to 50,000 and Phua three-bet to 175,000 on the button. Kempe made the call and they checked through the {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop. Kempe then bet the {6-Hearts} turn for 300,000 to receive a call from Phua and fired a bet of 1,400,000 on the {2-Clubs} river. Phua quickly sent his cards into the muck and Kempe claimed the first major pot of the day.
