Level 9 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Danny Tang opened to 225,000 on the button and Chin Wei Lim defended from the big blind. The flop came {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Lim checked to Tang who continued for 225,000. Lim called and the {k-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Lim checked again and Tang checked it back this time. The river was the {q-Spades} and Lim led out for 550,000. Tang thought for a moment but decided to send his cards to the muck.

Mateos Loses Flip to Chen

Level 9 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

James Chen opened from under the gun and Adrian Mateos three-bet from one seat over. Chen announced a four-bet to 1.9 million and called the shove of Mateos for around 4.0 million.

Adrian Mateos: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
James Chen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop improved Chen to trips aces and he locked up the elimination of Mateos with the {k-Hearts} turn, the {3-Diamonds} river was a mere formality. For Mateos, it was already the second bullet of the day and he can re-enter until the start of level 11.

Chen Spikes the Turn to Stay Alive

Level 9 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
James Chen
James Chen

Alex Foxen opened to 220,000 from the hijack and James Chen used up a time extension before shoving all in for 3,000,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Foxen who instantly called to put Chen at risk.

James Chen: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Alex Foxen: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

It was a coin flip that saw Foxen hold the lead through the {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop. However, the {k-Diamonds} on the turn paired Chen's king and the {8-Diamonds} was insignificant on the river. Chen got a full double up at the hands of the chip leader to level the playing field.

Small Pot for Badziakouski

Level 9 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Orpen Kisacikoglu defended his big blind against a raise by Mikita Badziakouski and checked the {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop. Badziakouski made it 200,000 to go and Kisacikoglu wanted to see another card.

Once the {2-Spades} fell on the turn, Kisacikoglu checked and a second barrel of 800,000 by Badziakouski did the trick to win the pot right there.

Alex Foxen made it 170,000 to go with the {j-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Timothy Adams just called with the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} in the big blind. On the {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, Adams checked and called a bet worth 305,000. Both opted to check the {8-Spades} on the turn and Foxen got there on the {10-Diamonds} river.

Adams checked once more and a bet of 790,000 by Foxen found no call.

Katz Eliminated by Kempe

Level 8 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Over on the outer tables, two of the shorter stacks clashed and it was Cary Katz that ended up all-in and at risk for 1,610,000 against Rainer Kempe.

Cary Katz: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Rainer Kempe: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Kempe jumped into the lead with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop and added a flushdraw with the {8-Spades} turn. For good measure, he even improved to a flush with the {4-Spades} river to send Katz to the rail on his first bullet.
