Sebastian Pauli

2-7 Triple Draw

Two short stacks tangled in a hand with multiple raises from the beginning. Sebastian Pauli raised the cutoff, Thomer Pidun made it three bets on the button, Pauli four-bet and called a five-bet from Pidun.

Pauli changed one card on each of the three draws, while Pidun stood pat all the way with a dealt eight-seven smooth.

Sebastian Pauli: {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}
Thomer Pidun: {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}

Pauli picked up a {k-} on the last draw and was eliminated from the event.

Ville Haavisto: {x-}{x-} / {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} / {x-}

Ville Haavisto was the bring in and Phil Hellmuth completed. Hellmuth bet fourth and fifth street before the pair checked it down. Haavisto showed {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} and Hellmuth mucked his hand with much dismay.

The next hand, Haavisto completed with an ace and Jochen Kaiser called with a jack.

Ville Haavisto: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Jochen Kaiser: {x-}{x-} / {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} (folded on sixth)

Haavisto bet fourth street and Kaiser called. Fifth street got checked by both players. Haavisto bet sixth street and Kaiser gave it up.

Thomer Pidun
Thomer Pidun

No-Limit Hold'em

Sebastian Pauli raised to 27,000 in the cutoff, Thomer Pidun three-bet to 61,000 on the button and Pauli called. The flop was {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Pauli checked. Pidun bet 55,000, Pauli check-raised all in, and Pidun called it off for about 200,000 total.

Thomer Pidun: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Sebastian Pauli: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Pidun's bigger pair remained best after the {9-Diamonds} turn and {3-Spades} river, leaving Pauli with just 27,000. He doubled those up in the next hand but remains dangerously short.
