Revenge for Loikkanen

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Arto Loikkanen raised to 12,000 from the button and David "ODB" Baker reraised to 18,000. Loikkanen called and they both saw a flop of {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Loikkanen checked, Baker bet 12,000, Loikkanen made it 24,000 with less than a blind behind him and Baker called.

The {10-Hearts} came on the turn and Loikkanen put the rest of his chips in the middle with Baker calling.

Arto Loikkanen: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
David "ODB" Baker: {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {a-Diamonds} on the river saved Loikkanen who took back some of the chips he lost earlier to Baker.

Burns Breaks Blom in PLO

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

In a blind-on-blind confrontation, Viktor Blom was all in for 110,000 from the small blind and Kahle Burns had the amount matched from the big blind.

Viktor Blom: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Kahle Burns: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}

"That's a strong hand," Burns said, deadpanned. The Aussie needed help and received just that when the flop came {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, giving him the requisite queen to take the lead.

Neither the {6-Diamonds} turn nor {7-Hearts} river turned it around for "Isildur1", who had to bow out in a disappointing 23rd place after starting the day second in chips.

Gluszko Gets There in Stud 8

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Tomasz Gluszko: {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} / {7-Hearts}
Eli Elezra: {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} / {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} / {3-Spades}

By fourth street, nearly all of Tomasz Gluszko's 59k stack was already in the middle. After seventh, Eli Elezra had sixes up. Gluszko sweated the final card to reveal a seven for sevens up, doubling up.

Hellmuth Chops to Survive

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Stud Hi-Lo

Allen Kessler: {x-}{x-} / {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades} / {x-}
Phil Hellmuth: {x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} / {x-}
Kahle Burns: {x-}{x-} / {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} / {x-}

On fifth street, Phil Hellmuth was all in for 13,000 and Kahle Burns raised with a big bet to 29,000. Back on Allen Kessler, he called after some thought. A sizable crowd started gathering to see the 15-time bracelet winner being at risk.

Burns check-called bets from Kessler on sixth and seventh street before all hands went to showdown. Kessler was the first to reveal, slowly rolling over {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a pair of sixes and 8-7-6-5-2 low. Burns then tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for aces and nines.

Hellmuth was last to act and turned over {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} to make a 7-4-3-2-A low to claim half the pot.

"Needs a low to survive!" Daniel Negreanu cheerfully quipped, who was filming the whole showdown for his vlog.
