The First Casualties in the Money

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Hristo Peychev was the first player to collect the min-cash of €900 when he lost his now short stack with {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} against the {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} of Adrian Kyiak.

Tomasz Gluszko and Karsten Kobbing followed to send the field down to the last 61 players.

The Bubble Bursts Eventually

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Nicola Angelini
Nicola Angelini

At essentially the same time, Peter Kvisthammar and Nicola Angelini were eliminated on separate tables. The cards of the former were already mucked while Angelini was all-in against Saulius Tumosa on the {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} turn.

Nicola Angelini: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Saulius Tumosa: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Angelini needed a ten but missed it on the {7-Hearts} river to let the bubble burst.

Kabrhel Doubles Through Tumosa

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

With some 42,000 in the middle and the flop showing {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop, the clock was called on Martin Kabrhel as he was facing a pot-sized bet by Saulius Tumosa. He called with two seconds to spare and the cards were revealed.

Martin Kabrhel: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Saulius Tumosa: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Kabrhel grabbed all eight cards and sorted one of the other, labelling two each as decent and the other two as banana cards.

The {8-Hearts} turn gave Kabrhel the straight but Tumosa had a flush draw. Nothing changed with the {q-Clubs} river and Kabrhel doubled for 35,500.

Hu Doubles Near the Bubble

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

David Hu got the last 39,000 in with the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Tobias Peters looked him up holding the {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

The board came {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{q-Spades} and Hu tripled with trips queens.

Some Tanking Emerges

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

It seems that one table in particular has been taking a lot of time per hand and Tomasz Gluszko just tanked for several minutes before the clock was called on him. He was given 15 seconds to act and folded from an early position with a stack of around 15 blinds.

Hu's Turn to Lose Aces Versus Aces

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ugur Coskun
Ugur Coskun

A preflop raising war brought the stacks of Ugur Coskun and David Hu into the middle to create the following showdown.

Davud Hu: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Ugur Coskun: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Hu had previously prevailed in such an aces versus aces scenario. Both players picked up flush draws until the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} turn and it was Coskun who got there on the {9-Hearts} river. He doubled for 172,000 to leave Hu among the shorter stacks near the bubble.

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Hen Rosilio
Hen Rosilio

Nicola Angelini raised to 9,000 and was called by Hen Rosilio and Saulius Tumosa. On the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop, the raising war brought all three stacks into the middle as Rosilio was at risk for 82,000 and Tumosa for 107,000.

Hen Rosilio: {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Saulius Tumosa: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Nicola Angelini: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The {9-Hearts} turn and {a-Clubs} river gave Tumosa the winning hand and Rosilio was eliminated before the payouts on Day 1b.
