Ersin Runs Out of Chips

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

With more than half of his remaining stack already invested, Mahmut Ersin then jammed the {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop for 21,500 and was called by Valter Hansson.

Mahmut Ersin: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Valter Hansson: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Ersin had plenty of outs but the {3-Spades} turn and {2-Hearts} river failed to provide any help, as Hansson claimed the pot with queens and treys.

Ersin Left Short; Doubles Through Panasiuk

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Mahmut Ersin looked up the shove by Henning Andre on the {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades} turn.

"I have a full house," Andre said and rolled over the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Ersin sighed and complained about himself as he had checked behind the flop with the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for trips treys. Nothing changed on the {7-Spades} river as Andre doubled.

One hand later, Ersin three-bet jammed the last 15,000 with the {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Serhii Panasiuk called with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. The {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board improved Ersin to a jack-high straight.

Peters Approaches Half a Million

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

A short-stacked Rene Christener was all-in before the flop and Tobias Peters quickly called with his large tower of chips.

Rene Christener: {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Tobias Peters: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

The {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts} board gave Peters top set on the flop and the nut flush on the turn, leaving Christener without any equity whatsoever. Emil Bise also vanished as the field dropped below 90 hopefuls on Day 1b.

Barbarez Among Recent Casualties

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Sergej Barbarez
Sergej Barbarez

Only around 90 players remain and they are competing for a min cash of at least €900, which will be awarded to the top 64 finishers. Until then there is still plenty of time to pass and the latest notables on the rail included Sergej Barbarez and Grzegorz Wyraz.

Pettas Loses Aces to Aces

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The chips of Angelos Pettas and David Hu went into the middle preflop and both turned over pocket aces combos.

Angelos Pettas: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
David Hu: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

Board: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Hu rivered a straight with his kickers and that sent Pettas to the rail in cruel fashion.

Hu Doubles Through Lampropoulos

The cards were already exposed past a {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop on which David Hu was all-in with the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Nikolaos Lampropoulos tabled the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and saw the board complete with the {5-Hearts} turn and {9-Diamonds} river, giving Hu fortunate two pair eventually.
