Zibertas Knocks Out Reigning Champion Kaimakamis

Michael Bartov opened in middle position and was immediately three-bet by Mantas Zibertas who made it 4,000.

Defending champion Vangelis Kaimakamis four-bet to 11,500 from the small blind for Bartov to fold before Zibertas five-bet to 25,100.

In the end, all the chips got in the middle with the champion at risk.

Early Exit for Celenza

Claudio Celenza was spotted on the rail and recalled the action of his last hand. Preflop, he invested 8,500 chips against Francesco Delfoco to see an {a-}{9-}{2-} flop on which Delfoco bet 6,000 and Celenza called.

After the {a-} turn, Delfoco bet another 6,000 and then called the shove by Celenza with ace-king. Celenza had pocket nines and the {2-} river paired the board for the second time to give Delfoco aces full of deuces.

Tato Loses Flip to Scharfetter

A preflop raising contest brought the chips of Bartolomeo Tato and Martin Scharfetter into the middle of the table.

The board ran out {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and the chips were counted. Tato had some 86,000 at his disposal and that was covered by Scharfetter.

Sarris Doubles; Then Busts

Hassan Sarris got his stack of 25,300 in preflop with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and was trailing against {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Sarris was already on the way out before he was told that he had actually gotten there.

Soon after, Sarris jammed the river of a {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} board and Vangelis Kaimakamis called with the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Sarris flashed the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and quickly headed out of the tournament area.

Taramas Doubles Through Femont

In a heads-up pot to the {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}, Frederic Femont bet 8,200 and John Taramas on the button raised to 25,000. Femont then moved all-in with the superior stack and Taramas called.

Femont tried to muck his cards but the dealer immediately revealed it as per all-in showdown rule, exposing the {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Taramas had that beat with the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for trips queens and doubled for 56,400.

Amiel Gamliel opened in early position to 1,000 and was called by Jonas ten Cate in the cutoff before Michail Tastanis three-bet to 4,500 on the button.

Gamliel re-raised to 18,500 which was enough to push both opponents off the pot.

Ten Cate, who busted in Day 1a has started well and has a stack of around 210,000 following an elimination.

Chen check-called a 4,000 bet on the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop and then action action checked through on the {4-Spades} turn.

Both players checked the {j-Hearts} river, Chen tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Lapido mucked.

Elsewhere, Timothy Stevens was seen exiting the tournament area.
