Stancu and Calzoni Get Lucky Double Ups

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Vasile Stancu shoved all in for his last 1,115,000 in the hijack and Tal Herzog re-shoved all in on the button. Stancu found himself in trouble with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} against the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of Herzog.

The flop of {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} left Herzog in the lead but the {8-Clubs} on the turn got Stancu out of his seat with a set of eights. The {a-Clubs} completed the board and Stancu doubled up.

At the table next door, Matteo Calzoni opened to 160,000 in early position and Mykhailo Sezonenko three-bet to 400,000 on the button. Calzoni four-bet shoved all in for 2,010,000 and Sezonenko quickly called.

Sezonenko held {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and had Calzoni in trouble with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. However, the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop put Calzoni out front with a pair of aces. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and {2-Hearts} on the river gave Calzoni a huge double up into one of the biggest stacks in the room.
