Karlic Gets a Late-Night Fortunate Double
Level 7
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Gerald Karlic was all in for 22,400 before the flop and up against Ali Amelipour.
Gerald Karlic: A♠9♦
Ali Amelipour: A♣Q♥
Karlic was dominated and at risk, but the 8♥J♦9♣ flop gave him a pair of nines and the lead. Amelipour had a straight draw and Karlic used his hand to cover the board as he couldn't bare to watch the 7♦7♠ turn and river.
Amelipour missed his draw and Karlic was finally able to look again and take in the pot.
