Axel Hallay

At noon local time, Day 2 of the€10,350 WSOP Main Event will get underway. Across both Day 1a and Day 1b, 677 entries were made in the marquee event at King's Resort in Rozvadov, generating a prize pool of €6,431,500. However, late registration will remain open for the majority of Day 2, with five of the seven scheduled levels still having the option for a fresh entry, or a second bullet if the need arises.

All players who decide to enter or use their single reentry available to them today will get their starting stack of 100,00 chips, good for just over 62 big blinds at the start of Day 2 and 20 big blinds at the very end of the late registration period. However, they will have some catching up to do before they equal the stack of Dumitru Pora from Romania, who amassed 729,900 chips on Day 1a and leads the 433 players who got through Day 1a or Day 1b.

French high roller Axel Hallay completes the podium with a stack of 577,000, while the notable names of David Miscikowski, Francisco Benitez, Leon Sturm, and Fabian Gumz also manages to secure a place in the top ten chip counts.

There was a reraise to 16,500 in front of Nikola Minkov and he then looked up the shove by Barny Boatman to put the Brit at risk.

Barny Boatman: KK
Nikola Minkov: AK

The J92 instantly delivered the goods for Minkov, who had little to fear on the 8 turn and Q river.

Philipp Zukernik
Philipp Zukernik

Wladimir Majer was all-in with a shorter stack and ahead in the following showdown against Philipp Zukernik.

Wladimir Majer: AJ
Philipp Zukernik: KQ

Majer made the top pair on the J82 flop but had a mighty sweat to endure on the 10 turn when Zukernik picked up straight outs to go with his two live cards. One of them came with the A river and Majer shook his head, snapped a picture of the "bad beat" before leaving the tournament area.

Rosilllio Obtains Massive Stack as Rohde Can Not Let It Go

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Hen Rosilio
Hen Rosilio

The action was caught when the board had already been completed, and it read 6KA8Q. Hen Rosilio then tanked for a few minutes in the big blind before the clock was called on him.

Before the floorman could come over, however, Rosilio decided to put his opponent Michael Rohde all-in for his last 65,000 chips. Rohde lamented his situation and took a few minutes of his own before finally putting in the call.

Rosilio showed AK for top two pair, while Rohde tried to muck his QJ for just a rivered pair of queens. However, the dealer retrieved as is mandatory for an all-in situation, and Rohde stormed off while Roslio crossed the half-million mark.

Peng Eliminated in Three-Way Three-Bet Pot

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Mahsum Aslan
Mahsum Aslan

Yi Zhan Peng, Mahsum Aslan, and Paulius Vaitiekunas were involved in a three-bet pot worth 40,000 chips. On the 8210 flop, Peng jammed all in for 28,600 from early position. Aslan thought for a minute or so before putting in the call with the covering stack and Vaitiekunas quickly mucked thereafter.

Yi Zhan Peng: JJ
Mahsum Aslan: 88

Peng was drawing slim against the flopped set of Aslan, and the 4 turn brought him no extra outs. The K river sealed his fate and he packed up his belongings.

"If you would've shoved pre you would've won," Vaitiekunas advised Peng while he was on his way to the exit.

Andras Balogh
Andras Balogh

Three-handed on a flop of 452, Rene Majed bet 5,000 from early position and was called by Finn Zwad in middle position, while big blind Andras Balogh also came along.

The turn was the K and Majed continued for 10,000. Zwad folded this time, but Balogh came back with an all-in shove. Majed only had around 12,500 remaining and tanked for a minute before taking out his phone and reluctantly calling as he began filming the action.

He showed 88, but Balogh had K10 for top pair. The K river improved Balogh to trips and sent Majed to the rail.
