Action folded to Duc Quy Nguyen in the small blind who moved all in for 250,000. Elia Salerno called in the big blind.
Duc Quy Nguyen: A♥K♥
Elia Salerno: Q♣Q♦
The two players were flipping heading to the 2♣10♥8♠ flop. Nguyen took the lead on the K♣ turn and was poised for a double up, but the Q♥ fell on the river as Salerno spiked a set.
Nguyen could only shrug as the two players shook hands before Nguyen headed off to the rail.
Alexandr Dusco raised to 30,000 under the gun and Stephan Klam called in middle position before Antonello Ferraiuolo moved all in for 115,000 in the small blind. Dusco folded, while Klam gave it some thought before calling.
Antonello Ferraiuolo: A♣K♠
Stephan Klam: 9♦9♠
The 9♥ fell in the window and Klam smacked the table in celebration as he made a set. The rest of the board came 7♦2♣2♠8♥ and Klam finished with a full house.
"One nine," Dusco said, revealing he folded ten-nine suited.
Ermanno Di Nicola and Sebastian Skurzynski were heads-up on a board of Q♥4♣4♥5♠ when Di Nicola bet 75,000 from the hijack.
Skurzynski then moved all in for 240,000 in the small blind and Di Nicola tanked for a minute before calling. Skurzynski showed J♠J♥, but Di Nicola had K♠Q♠ for two pair. The river was the 9♣ and Skurzynski was sent to the rail.
Andreas Paleologos opened to 30,000 from under the gun before Gianluca Cabitza three-bet to 105,000 from the hijack. The action folded to Deividas Butnoras in the big blind, who made it 265,000.
Paleologos paused for a few moments before moving all in. Cabitza showed clear frustration at the spot and appeared to make a reluctant fold. Butnoras was also not too thrilled but did call after around 30 seconds.
Andreas Paleologos: A♠A♣
Deividas Butnoras: K♦K♥
Cabitza's frustration soon turned into elation as he said he folded K♠K♣ as the cards were going on their backs.
Gianluca Cabitza
If Cabitza was being truthful, Butnoras was drawing extremely thin, but he did pick up outs to Broadway after the A♥Q♥J♠ flop. Any chances of a bad beat were quashed as Paleologos filled up on the J♣ turn. The 4♠ river completed the board.
With the pot, Paleologos has soared to the top end of the chip counts.
Heads-up on a board of 8♠4♦10♥3♥, Elia Salerno bet 155,000 from early position and Bardhyl Kokollari called in the big blind.
The river came the 7♠ and Salerno bet another 245,000. Kokollari, leaning over the back of his chair, had to move his two Dragonball Z characters he uses as card protectors out of the way to count out his remaining stack as he went into the tank.
Kokollari began shuffling his cards on the table before gathering up the chips to call and putting them in the middle. Salerno then showed A♠10♠ for top pair and Kokollari nodded his head and mucked.
Heads-up on a flop of K♠10♣Q♠, Roland Israelashvili bet 100,000 from under the gun and Jaroslav Polak raised to 200,000 in the big blind.
Israelashvili then splashed in 450,000 and Polak called. The turn came the 6♠ and Israelashvili got his last 30,000 in the middle.
Polak revealed 10♦10♠ for a set of tens, but Israelashvili showed Q♦Q♥ as Polak let out a loud groan. The river was the 4♥ and Israelashvili doubled up.
Shawn Stroke has the chip lead going into the break and he just detailed his hand that put him at the top of the counts.
Stroke opened to 60,000 from middle position and was called by Viacheslav Svyshchov and start-of-day chip leader Xhavit Berisha from the blinds.
On the 9♠7x6♠ flop, action checked through to the K♥ turn. Action checked to Stroke, who bet 60,000. Svyshchov called before Berisha made it 300,000. Only Stroke called.
On the Jx river, Berisha then moved all in as the big stack and Stroke, with around 550,000 behind, snap-called for his tournament life.
Berisha had a set with 9x9x, but Stroke had the Q♠10♠ for the queen-high straight.
