WSOPE Colossus Winnner Michal Schuh Bubbles Main Event

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Michal Schuh
Michal Schuh

After hearing of the unlikely double-up on the feature table, Michal Schuh looked despondent as he was forced all-in from the big blind.

As the dealer dished out the cards, Schuh asked for a round of folds but found no such luck as Dmytro Stetsiura and Gaspare Sposato limped in from the hijack and small blind.

The two active players checked the action down to showdown for the final board to read J42K9.

Stetsiura accidentally showed his cards early and tabled A3. Schuh had yet to take a look at his cards and when the tournament director came over to tell the players to get the cards on their backs, Schuh turned over the 2, meaning he had at least a pair. A second heart would also give him a flush.

Sposato tabled J7 for a pair of jacks. Schuh needed to make two pair to survive.

Schuh rolled over his second card, the A, which confirmed him as the 2024 WSOP Europe Main Event bubble.

Schuh quickly exited but it hasn't been a bad series for the retired pro. Schuh topped the field in this year's WSOPE Colossus for his first bracelet and €171,350.

Frederik Thiemer raised to 32,000 in middle position, Marius Kudzmanas moved all in for 65,000 in the hijack, and Thiemer called.

Marius Kudzmanas: AJ All in
Frederik Thiemer: 1010

"I'm going to use my one time right now," Kudzmanas said heading to the flop, which came 974. The Q fell on the turn, followed by the 3 river as Thiemer's pocket pair held up to send Kudzmanas to the rail.

The remaining 117 players are one elimination away from the money.

Angelov Fires Huge

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Boris Angelov
Boris Angelov

Picking up the action on a turn of 610K7, Andrea Ricci tossed in a bet of 75,000 from under the gun, which big blind Boris Angelov raised to 265,000.

Ricci called to create a massive pot, after which the 2 river fell. Angelov slid in a bet of 525,000, the majority of his stack.

Ricci quickly let his hand go, prompting Angelov to jokingly wipe the sweat from his brow.

Svach Starts Off With the Worst Hand, Ends With the Best

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Pavel Svach

Cecile Ticherfatine raised to 32,000 in middle position and Pavel Svach three-bet to 80,000 in the cutoff. Enrico Camosci in the small blind and Ticherfatine both called and the flop came AJ10.

All three players checked to the A turn. Camosci and Ticherfatine checked again, and Svach bet 75,000. Both opponents called.

The Q river was also checked down and Camosci showed KK for a straight. Ticherfatine also had a straight with AK, but Svach turned over 76 for a flush to win the pot.

Rachid El Yaacoubi
Rachid El Yaacoubi

Rachid El Yaacoubi, Francesco Rinaldi, and Luka Bojovic went three-handed to a flop of K106. El Yaacoubi then bet 42,000 from middle position and Rinaldi called in the big blind, while Bojovic folded under the gun.

The turn was the 3 and El Yaacoubi bet 65,000. Rinaldi again called and the 10 fell on the river. El Yaacoubi then bet 250,000.

Rinaldi called once more and El Yaacoubi turned over KQ for two pair to win the pot.

Dick Celebrates After Cracking Do's Kings on the Bubble

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Michael Dick
Michael Dick

Michael Dick shoved from the cutoff, covering all remaining players by a significant margin. Anh Do called off from the small blind with his remaining stack of 253,000 and was at risk.

Anh Do: KK All in
Michael Dick: 109

Do was a big favorite to double up on the bubble with pocket kings but Dick picked up a ton of outs on the 8109 flop. The 5 turn was a brick but the J river improved Dick to a straight.

"Yes! Let's go!" a triumphant Dick shouted upon seeing that he had rivered the winner. "I love you!" he said to the dealer, clearly overjoyed from winning the relatively small pot while Do was sent to the rail in brutal fashion just three spots shy of making the money.

Ko Chases Away Kinno From a Massive Pot, No Second Run For Tocci

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
David Dongwoo Ko
David Dongwoo Ko

Michele Tocci moved all in for 70,000 on the button and Nadir Kinno raised to 136,000 in the small blind. David Dongwoo Ko then reraised to 455,000 in the big blind and Kinno folded, claiming he had two tens.

Michele Tocci: AJ All in
David Dongwoo Ko: 66

Tocci hit top pair on the A106 flop, but Ko spiked a set as Kinno flung his arms in the air after seeing he would've also hit a better set. The K turn gave Tocci a straight draw, but Ko filled up on the K river to send last year's third-place finisher to the rail a few spots off the money.

"Why do you not just flat?" Kinno said to Ko as they joined the field on break.

Zamani Spikes Two-Outer for Massive Double-Up

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Martin Zamani
Martin Zamani

Martin Zamani had gotten his stack of 344,000 in from the small blind against Fabio Peluso in the big blind and was at risk.

Martin Zamani: 66 All in
Fabio Peluso: 1010

Zamani was dominated, but that soon changed as the Q6A flop gave him a set to take a big lead. Neither the 4 turn nor the 3 river brought a ten for Peluso, securing Zamani's double-up to an above-average stack.

Meanwhile, Zoltan Vrancsik was less fortunate as he had lost all of his chips and was eliminated from the tournament seven spots from the money.

Astedt Smacks the River to Double

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Niklas Astedt raised to 60,000 in early position, leaving himself 30,000 behind, as action folded to Stanislav Zegal in the big blind. He tanked for a minute before moving all in and Astedt quickly called for his last chips.

Niklas Astedt: A4 All in
Stanislav Zegal: A9

A collective gasp arose from the table when the flop came 753 to give Astedt some hope with a straight draw. The 10 turn kept Zegal in the lead and left Astedt one card away from elimination, but he spiked the 2 on the river to make a straight and double up.
