Pipine's Pocket Fours Fall Flat as Girard Doubles Up

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Edgaras Pipine kicked off the action from under the gun with a raise to 1,100. Hugues Girard, sitting in the small blind, inquired about Pipine's stack size before making a three-bet to 4,000. When the action returned to Pipine, he pushed all-in, prompting a quick snap-call from Hugues.

Hugues Girard: AKAll in
Edgaras Pipine: 44

Pipine's pocket fours didn’t have a chance as the flop revealed an ace for Hugues: 9A9. The J on the turn and the 9 on the river didn’t improve Pipine’s hand at all. Thinking he had been eliminated, Pipine stood up, but Hugues’ stack was 800 short, allowing Pipine to remain in the tournament for at least one more hand.

However, Pipine found himself auto all-in in the next round as the big blind. Hugues raised to 1,000, and Cheng Zhao called from the small blind. Both players checked down to the showdown, where Zhao won with A5 on the 374JQ board, ultimately eliminating Pipine from the tournament.

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Rafi Elharar opened from the button to 1,500.

"This will be a boring hand" he said, adding, "check then bet then fold."

Anja Wisney chose to defend the big blind before checking the 9J2 flop to Elharar who bet 1,500. HIs prediction did not come true as Wisney made the call.

The A turn was checked around before Wisney checked once more on the 5 turn. Elharar bet 3,000 and Wisney folded. Elharar then showed KK to PokerNews.

Dufouleur Dances Out as Jobin’s Aces Take Center Stage

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Lois Dufouleur

With around 10,000 already in the pot and the board showing 763, Lois Dufouleur checked to Yannick Jobin, who placed a bet of 2,700. After some consideration, Dufouleur decided to go all-in, and Jobin quickly snap-called after glancing at his cards.

Dufouleur revealed 1010, but he was behind Jobin‘s AA. The J on the turn didn’t change the situation, and although the A on the river gave Jobin a nice set, he had already secured the win and eliminated Dufouleur from the tournament.
