Schnitzler Finds Huge Hero Call in Epic Hand

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Rene Schnitzler
Rene Schnitzler

Rene Schnitzler opened to 50,000 from early position, and was met with a three-bet to 150,000 from tournament chip leader Georgios Tsouloftas on the button. Action folded back to Schnitzler, who called.

Schnitzler pulled his hoody right up over his face as the QQ10 flop was dealt, where he check-called versus a bet of 100,000 from Tsouloftas.

The same pattern followed on the A turn, this time in respect of a bet of 180,000 from Tsouloftas.

The 6 river completed the board, and Schnitzler checked once more. Tsouloftas didn't take long before moving all in with the covering stack, and Schnitzler went into the tank.

At this point he sat back in his chair, unzipped his hoody and removed it from his face, and contemplated the position.

He eyed his opponent and the board suspiciously, and after around another 45 seconds, flicked in a calling chip, but at the same time as looking away from the table and getting up out of his chair, almost as if he was expecting the worst.

Tsouloftas tabled K9 for air, and Schnitzler had to scan the board for a few seconds to confirm his K10 for two pair, queens and tens, was indeed good.

Tsouloftas couldn't believe it, and Schnitzler earned the applause of the watching crowd. "Amazing call," someone shouted, as Schnitzler blew out his cheeks, retook his seat, and raked in a monster pot.

Two Eights Worth €40,000 For Neagoe

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Darius Neagoe
Darius Neagoe

Darius Neagoe raised to 50,000 in the cutoff and was called by Eloy Dominguez and Urmo Velvelt in the blinds.

The flop came 633 and Neagoe bet 80,000. Dominguez called, while Velvelt raised to 275,000. Neagoe then moved all in, Dominguez folded, while Velvelt called for 750,000.

Urmo Velvelt: K6 All in
Darius Neagoe: 88

Velvelt had flopped two pair, but he was behind Neagoe's eights and threes while the A turn and J river were no help, sending last year's Main Event runner-up to the rail.

Neagoe soon after used his new bounty chip and pulled the €40,000 prize, while Sebastian Kannler was seen exiting the tournament area after busting.

Ghattas Kortas: 88 All in
Antonio Fragale: AJ

Fragale began shouting out to his Italian rail as he awaited the flop, which came A106 to give him top pair and the lead. The turn was the K, while the 9 fell on the river and Kortas tossed over his bounty.

"€25,000, please," Fragale, who already pulled the €75,000 top prize today, said as he held it up.

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Elia Salerno
Elia Salerno

Carlos Spoddig moved all in for 55,000 under the gun, and Elia Salerno raised to 80,000 from the next seat. Action folded to Enrico Campanile in the big blind, who called.

On the 543 flop, Campanile check-called in the face of a bet of 35,000 from Salerno.

The 9 hit on the turn, and Campanile check-folded facing a double-barrel of 125,000 from Salerno.

Carlos Spoddig: Q9 All in
Elia Salerno: 74

Spoddig had turned top pair, but Salerno had outs to the straight and two pairs. The 6 hit on the river and sent Salerno the pot, who celebrated with a "Wohoo" as he claimed another bounty.

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Matjaz Vogrinec
Matjaz Vogrinec

Matjaz Vogrinec opened to 65,000 from early position, before Ridvan Sare three-bet jammed from the small blind for around 405,000.

Yuhan Wang was in the big blind, and he got his 360,000 stack into the middle, and Vogrinec quickly called, covering both players.

Yuhan Wang: KK All in
Ridvan Sare: KK All in
Matjaz Vogrinec: QQ

In a bizarre hand, Vogrinec's queens had run into two pairs of pocket kings, and they held over the 8726A, although both players will be slightly disappointed with the outcome, being deprived of a double-up.

Manig Loeser

Ian Simpson raised to 60,000 under the gun, Josef Gulas moved all in for 285,000 on the button, and Simpson called.

Josef Gulas: A9 All in
Ian Simpson: K10

The 8546J board didn't improve either player, and Gulas' ace-high remained in the lead to earn him the double up.

At the same time at another table, Manig Loeser had gotten in his last chips with KJ from the cutoff against Enrico Campanile in the big blind holding 44. The J97 flop gave Loeser top pair, but Campanile hit a set on the 4 turn. The river was the 8 and Loeser was sent to the rail.

Set Not Enough for Previsic

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Robert Previsic
Robert Previsic

Robert Previsic jammed for 195,000 from the cutoff, and was called by Elia Salerno in the big blind.

Robert Previsic: 1010 All in
Elia Salerno: J9

Previsic was in good shape, and hit top set on the 1074 flop, although Salerno picked up a gutshot.

The A turn was a great card for Previsic, avoiding Salerno picking up a club draw, but in brutal fashion, the 8 hit on the river to give Salerno the jack-high straight.

He apologized to Previsic, who wished the table good luck as he left.

Lukas Rutkauskas

On the river of a A94Q5 board, Georgios Tsouloftas pushed all-in out of the small blind. Lukas Rutkauskas glanced at the tournament info screen and then called for around 300,000 to get shown the Q9 for two pair by Tsouloftas. Rutkauskas tapped the table and flipped over his AK before heading to the payout desk.

On the same table right after, Oleksandr Novoselskyi pushed all-in for 495,000 and was called by Rene Schnitzler.

Oleksandr Novoselskyi: A6 All in
