Pidun Calls Neugebauer With Ace-High
Level 30
: Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Max Neugebauer raised to 525,000 under the gun and Daniel Pidun called on the button.
Action was checked to the river on a board of 8♥7♦4♦K♥2♥. Neugebauer then bet 600,000, and Pidun quickly called.
Neugebauer showed Q♠J♣, but Pidun had A♠Q♣ and won the pot with ace-high.
Neugebauer got some of those chips back the next hand when Pidun raised to 525,000 in the cutoff and Neugebauer called in the big blind.
Pidun bet 350,000 on the K♦9♠7♦ flop and Neugebauer called. They then checked down the 8♠ turn and J♠ river, and Neugebauer showed K♥4♠ for top pair. Pidun mucked 7♣5♣.
"Somebody else needs to win this tournament. It's not good for poker," Catalin Pop said.
"It's good for me," Neugebauer replied.
