Rohe's Small Pair Holds For a Triple

Level 25 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Tobias Rohe
Tobias Rohe

Tobias Rohe moved all in for 305,000 in the hijack, Marcel Grubinger reshoved for 850,000 on the button, and Sascha Hausner called in the big blind to put both players at risk.

Tobias Rohe: 55 All in
Marcel Grubinger: KQ All in
Sascha Hausner: AK

Rohe had a chance to earn a triple up if his pocket pair could stay in the lead. The 106J flop gave both opponents straight draws, while the 5 turn improved Rohe to a set. The river was the 8 and Rohe took the main pot, while Hausner's ace-kicker played to take the side pot and send Grubinger to the rail.

Dave Stann
Dave Stann

Dave Stann and Sarah Link went to the turn on a board of 102AK when Stann put in the rest of his 225,000 from middle position. Link called in the small blind.

Stann showed QJ for the nut straight, while Link was left with a set holding KK. Stann needed to avoid the board pairing to stay alive, but not only did Link hit the river, she caught the K to make quads and send Stann to the rail.

Bendik Binks a Queen to Stack Vaturi

Level 25 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Eden Vaturi
Eden Vaturi

Jan Bendik finished runner up in the first bracelet event of the festival, and is making another deep run in the second.

Bendik opened to 60,000 from the hijack and Stepan Budac called on the button. Eden Vaturi was in the big blind and after pondering for a few moments, he shoved for around 400,000. Bendik wasted no time in putting in calling chips, which got Budac to fold.

Eden Vaturi: AJ All in
Jan Bendik: Q10

Vaturi was ahead and just needed to sweat a runout to double up. The 743 flop was safe for him, but Bendik binked a queen on the Q turn to take the lead. Only an ace on the river could save Vaturi, but the 2 wasn't it, which meant he got his marching orders.

On the turn with the board showing 101082, Herbert Kern was first to act from the cutoff, and opted to shove for around the pot of 250,000. OIeh Okhotskyi instantly called from the button.

Herbert Kern: A9 All in
Oleh Okhotskyi: 88

Kern immediately got out of his chair upon seeing he was drawing dead to the flopped boat of Okhotskyi. An irrelevant 6 came on the river, and Kern headed to the exit.

Zhao Spikes a Set to Bust Izuric; Maricuta Runs Into Kings

Level 25 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Dan Maricuta
Dan Maricuta

Cheng Zhao raised to 60,000 in the cutoff and Alexandru Izuric moved all in for his last 100,000 in the big blind. Zhao quickly called for the few additional chips.

Alexandru Izuric: A6 All in
Cheng Zhao: 55

Izuric found an ace on the AJ5 flop, but Zhao hit a set to leave Izuric drawing only to running cards. The A turn gave him trips and Zhao a full house, but Izuric missed the K river and was sent to the rail.

At another table, Robin Meyer had opened to 60,000 in early position before Dan Maricuta reraised to 400,000 in the big blind, leaving 10,000 behind. Meyer then moved all in and Maricuta looked back at the tournament clock before calling.

Dan Maricuta: 99 All in
Robin Meyer: KK

Meyer had woken up with kings, and Maricuta couldn't improve on the Q10827 board as he was also eliminated shortly after coming back from break.

Miracle Six Saves Grubinger

Level 25 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Marcel Grubinger
Marcel Grubinger

Ignazio De Rosa made it 75,000 from early position, and Marcel Grubinger raised to 450,000 with just 5,000 behind. When it folded around to De Rosa, he made the call.

De Rosa committed Grubinger on the 35A flop and after a few moments of tanking, Grubinger called.

Marcel Grubinger: 66 All in
Ignazio De Rosa: JJ

De Rosa's pocket jacks were out in front of Grubinger's pocket sixes. A A landed on turn, meaning Grubinger needed a two outer on the river to survive. A 6 completed the board to give Grubinger the winner with a boat, and he doubled up through De Rosa.

Barna Turns an Ace to Survive

Level 25 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Ovidiu Barna
Ovidiu Barna

Dong He opened the hijack to 70,000 and Javier Francort called in the cutoff. Ovidiu Barna was in the small blind and ripped in 330,000, which got a fold from He after a while. Francort called.

Ovidiu Barna: A9 All in
Javier Francort: 1010

"Because of you," said He to Francort, as the reason why he folded.

Barna was looking for an ace and had five chances at finding one. The first three chances came and went on the Q36 flop, but the A turn left him one card away from survival as he paired his ace. No ten appeared on the 7 river, and Francort had to fork over the chips.
