Two for Pederson; One for Estes

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Christian Pedersen opened to 100,000 from the button and Boris Kolev called from the big blind.

Kolev check-called for 80,000 on the 753 flop, before leading out for 110,000 on the 5 turn. Pederson called. The K river checked through to showdown, where Kolev tabled AJ. Pedersen had that beat with 88.

On the next deal, Mike Watson raised from the hijack to 110,000. Pedersen three-bet to 330,000, which took down the pot preflop.

On the other table, Mehdi Chaoui opened to 100,000 from middle position. Zackary Estes defended the big blind. The 764 flop checked through to the 5 turn. Estes fired out 100,000 and folded out Chaoui.

River Raise Does It

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit opened from middle position and picked up one caller in Zackary Estes from the big blind.

Both players checked the JJK flop and the 7 turn.

Estes led out with a bet of 50,000 on the 2 river, but Kanit raised to 280,000, which was enough to force a fold from Estes.

Aces Hold for Estes and the Chip Lead

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Zackary Estes
Zackary Estes

Zackary Estes kicked things off in the hijack with a raise to 110,000, and Miroslav Alilovic in the cutoff three bet to 260,000. Mustapha Kanit was sitting on the button when he four bet to 580,000. With the action back to Estes, he made it 1,100,000, which got Alilovic out of the way, but Kanit made the call after using one time bank card.

Estes did not back down on the 945 flop, betting 400,000 with Kanit calling.

When the 10 hit the turn, Estes announced all in and the dealer confirmed 1,725,000. Kanit went into the tank, burning through two time bank cards before making the call, sending the hand to showdown.

Mustapha Kanit: QQ

Both had an overpair, but Kanit was behind and hoping for a good river. The river brought the J, which changed nothing, allowing Estes to take a big chunk out of Kanit for a chip lead pot.

Watson Picks Cash Over Bracelet, Then Wins the Hand Against Hellmuth

Level 22 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Michael Watson
Michael Watson

Martin Hellmuth was deep in conversation with Mike Watson while the pair sat in the blinds, asking Watson whether he would prefer a bracelet and a €400,000 second-place prize, or €600,000 in cash with no bracelet. Watson, a poker Triple Crown winner, snap-said he would take the money over the bracelet. He also joked that he wouldn’t mind adding another runner-up finish to the seven second-place results he already has in WSOP events.

The action then folded around to Hellmuth, who raised to 125,000 from the small blind. Watson three-bet to 360,000, prompting Hellmuth to click it back to 625,000. Watson responded with a five-bet shove, and after spending some time in the tank, Hellmuth released his hand.

Big Call from Pedersen

Level 22 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Christian Pedersen
Christian Pedersen

Action was picked up on the K25 flop with around 650,000 already in the pot.

Christian Pedersen, in the small blind, was facing a bet of 450,000 from Yuliyan Kolev in the hijack and made the call.

The 6 landed on the turn, and Pedersen checked once more. Kolev then jammed as the bigger stack, putting Pedersen to the test for his remaining 1,420,000.

Pedersen burned through several time extensions before eventually committing a calling chip.

Kolev had been caught bluffing with QJ, while Pedersen tabled K3 for a pair of kings to secure the pot.
