Just Four Matches Remain

And their chip positions:

Howard Lederer (315,000) vs. Huck Seed (165,000)
Jim Collopy (342,000) vs. Martin Kabrhel (138,000)
Neil Channing (298,000) vs. McLean Karr (182,000)
Saar Wilf (245,000) vs. Andrew Feldman (235,000)

Lederer to Seed: "I just can't beat you, Huck!"

Huck Seed
Huck Seed

And he'd got it all in in such good shape this time, too... preflop with {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} vs. Huck Seed's {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}. So quietly and quickly had they pushed in and turned their cards on their back that it took a moment for the dealer to start dealing the all-in player's fate... {9-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} was the safe flop, but when the {Q-Diamonds} hit on the turn Lederer jumped in his chair like he'd just been lightly tasered and shook his head as the river bricked.

"I just cannot beat you..."
"That was pretty brutal," said Seed, before they started discussing the stack sizes and options in the hand. Seed is now back over his starting chips for the first time in a while.

Evening the Score

You'd think that at this point we'd see the stacks veering towards either All Of The Chips or Zero, but in one match at least the stacks are instead heading towards Even.

Latest to return to Starting Stacksville - Neil Channing and McLean Karr.

Channing raised from the button but Karr reraised. After a long pause during which Channing eyed up his opponent with suspicion, the call was made.

They checked down the {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop and {8-Hearts} turn, the time it took them to check increasing each time - until, with 75,000 in the pot by the {9-Hearts} river, Karr bet out 42,500. Channing now tanked like a whole fleet of Panzers, but eventually folded.

Channing now leads by 250,000 to Karr's 230,000, and all hopes of a nice leisurely dinner break before the third round of matches are now evaporating...

Kabrhel Feels the Fours

An all in on the other side of the felt now as Jim Collopy got the last of Martin Kabrhel's chips in (67k) with {4-Clubs} {4-Diamonds}. Collopy held {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} and this abruptly lost the race on the turn with the board bringing Kabrhel a full house: {10-Spades} {2-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {4-Hearts}. The river was no longer relevant and Kabrhel builds back to a stack which could do some damage.

Wilf Folds Full House

The board read {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}; there was 46,000 in the pot. Saar Wilf had bet out 35,000 but faced a raise to 83,000 from Andrew Feldman on the button.

There was much squirming and face-pulling from Wilf before he folded at last. He showed {4-Spades}{7-Spades} for a full house.

Feldman revealed {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} - playing the board.

Wilf laughed but presumably wasn't terribly happy about it, as dropped to 190,000 against Feldman's 290,000.

"I have never felt my heart beat so fast," Feldman told him as he raked in the pot.

Nothing, Nothing, Nothing, Big Shove

Every match seems to have quietened down and headed back towards being even in chips this level, with few showdowns and few pots over 30-40k. A couple of exceptions have been sudden threebet shoves preflop for pretty huge stacks, though. Huck Seed pushed forward two stacks of white 25,000 chips (new to this tournament) over the top of Howard Lederer's 21,000 raise, and it took several minutes and at least two re-checks of his cards for him to fold.

Next to them Jim Collopy moved in in the big blind over a raise to 17k. The countdown revealed that this was 247k, so original raiser Martin Kabrhel was covered, and would be calling all-in. He finally decided against it.

Wilf Won't (£22,847)

Saar Wilf - down to the Feld
Saar Wilf - down to the Feld

...Won't progress to the next round, that is.

It looked as though the last of Saar Wilf's chips went in on the river of the {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs} board but never came out again. He cried, "Oh no!" as Andrew Feldman revelaed {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for top pair, and that was that for Wilf.

We'll be seeing Feldman in around an hour for Round 5.

JC Rises Again; Martin Kabrhel Eliminated (£22,847)

Martin Kabrhel, not his day
Martin Kabrhel, not his day

Jim Collopy and Martin Kabrhel were pulling no punches preflop in the last ten minutes, taking turns to re-raise each other preflop or simply move in over the button's raise. These large bets were uncalled the first few times both parties made them, but then Kabrhel asked for a countdown on Collopy - 191k the answer - and called. He held (on the button) {A-Hearts} {9-Spades} against Collopy's {A-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}. From the way neither player reacted you'd hardly have known that Collopy spiked the {4-Diamonds} on the turn to double through and leave Kabrhel short once again.

"You're running really hot," Kabrhel did allow himself to say. "It's a good skill to be good at showdown."

"I could've pretended I thought I had Aces," said Collopy.

That pretty much spelled the end of Kabhrel, who got it in with his own dominated Ace - {A-Spades} {2-Clubs} vs. {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} but failed to outdraw Collopy who progresses to the next round in just half an hour's time.
