While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the Wynn Millions, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about some of the side events that have taken place out over the past month at the Wynn Summer Classic.
In Event #23: $1,600 NLH, 1,312 runners created a $1,902,400 prize pool that was paid out to the top 134 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Humberto Brenes (120th - $3,824), Jordan Cristos (93rd - $4,853), Timothy McDermott (31st - $9,980), Richard Bai (14th - $11,357), and Robert Peacock (10th - $26,312).
In the end, it was California native George Antonakos who collected every chip in play to capture the first-place $293,530 payday.

Dino Nigro opened for 1,100 from under the gun and was called by Angie Tran from the cutoff, along with Kevin Calenzo on the button.
The flop was checked to the Calenzo who fired out 1,600 and only Nigro called to see the
fall on the turn. Both players checked to showdown after the
completed the board on the river.
Nigro showed for ace-high and Calenzo rolled over
to win the pot with a pair of fives.

There was a heated heads-up battle between Andrew Moreno from early position and Xuan Liu from the cutoff.
The board read and there was already 23,500 already in the middle when Moreno fired out a 18,000 bet. Liu thought briefly before releasing and Moreno picked-up the decent sized pot.

Ameer Wakil opened action for 500 from middle position and was called by Filipp Khavin, Rob Wazwaz from the hijack and Zhen Cai from the cutoff before Mark Hammond squeezed for 2,500 on the button.
Hammond was called by all players except Wazwaz, bring the action four-ways to the flop. Action was checked to Hammond who continued for 2,500, both Wakil and Khavin called while Cai folded.
The turn brought the and action was checked to Hammond who tossed out a 10,000 uncontested bet to win the pot.
