Jaffee Rivers Gold

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action folded around to the player in the cutoff who raised to 12,000 and was called by Sergio Aido on the button, along with Jared Jaffee from the small blind.

The {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop was checked around to the {6-Hearts} turn where Jaffee led out for 20,000 and only Aido called to see the {a-Spades} complete the board on the river.

Jaffee led out once again, this time for 53,000 and then called off his 160,000 stack after Aido raised all in.

Aido rolled over {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a turned full house but it was no good as Jaffee showed {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the better full house he caught on the river.

Akopov Finishes Off Conan

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Boris Akopov
Boris Akopov

We happened upon the table with side action between Boris Akopov and Kevin Wang with Arthur Conan already all in. It appeared he got his short stack all in preflop as there was a main pot of around 40,000 and a side pot of 100,000 already brewing with a board reading {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Akopov bet 50,000 from the big blind and that was enough to get Wang to fold from the hijack.

Boris Akopov: {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Arthur Conan: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Akopov was ahead with trip eights but Conan was drawing live to a flush. Unfortunately for the Frenchman, the {9-Diamonds} river was no help and he made a beeline for the exit.

Aido Claps Back With Aces

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

After just losing majority of his stack, Sergio Aido open-jammed for 49,000 from the hijack and was called Jared Jaffe from the cutoff, along with Santiago Soriano from the big blind.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Jaffee isolated after Soriano check-folded.

Sergio Aido: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Jared Jaffee: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Aido was well ahead and the {7-Diamonds} turn left Jaffee drawing dead. The dealer then dropped the meaningless {10-Spades} on the river and Aido collected his triple up.

Bicknell Flips for Tournament Life Against Kuether

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

Joe Kuether raised to 11,000 from the hijack and was met by an all-in three-bet to 98,000 by Kristen Bicknell next to act. The button and blinds all folded before Kuether tossed in a call.

Kristen Bicknell: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Joe Kuether: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Bicknell would catch neither a king nor ace, but it was just as well as she secured the double by the turn after the board ran out {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs} to give her a spade flush.

Alex Foxen Makes Big Splash on Day 2ab of Wynn Millions; Dominique Mosley Leads as 76 Advance

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

The $10,000 buy-in, $10,000,000 GTD Wynn Millions continued on Monday with Day 2ab action, which saw 240 players return to play. After five 90-minute levels, the field was whittled down to 76 players with Dominique Mosley and his stack of 933,000 leading the way.

Not far behind with 797,000 is Pavlo Veksler, and right behind him with 787,000 is none other than poker pro Alex Foxen (pictured), who held the chip lead most of the day until late in the last level of the night.

Others to bag stacks were Russell Thomas (760,000), Anthony Huntsman (747,000), Manuel Fritz (708,000), Santiago Soriano (703,000), Salim Admon (669,000), and [Removed:460] (666,000).

They were joined by notable players like Tony Sinishtaj (482,000), Joe Kuether (479,000), Jared Jaffee (462,000), Connor Drinan (449,000), Cliff Josephy (394,000), Chris Moorman (359,000), David “ODB” Baker (353,000), Ryan Riess (266,000), Jason Koon (262,000), and Kristen Bicknell (244,000).

Without question, the hand of the day was a brutal cooler involving start-of-the-day chip leader Bryn Kenney and Foxen. You can read about that hand in full in this standalone PokerNews article, but suffice it to say it an instant Wynn Millions classic.

Others to bow out on Day 2ab were Sean Perry, Faraz Jaka, Jason Somerville, Joseph Cheong, Vanessa Kade, Brian Altman, David Peters, Ali Imsirovic, Shaun Deeb, Tony Dunst, Nick Schulman, and former WSOP champs Scott Baumstein, Joe McKeehen, Damian Salas, and Joe Cada.

The 2009 WSOP Main Event champ bowed out in the penultimate level of the night when he three-bet all in from the small blind holding pocket jacks. The initial raiser, Kuether, called with king-eight and promptly spiked a king on the flop to end the run of the four-time bracelet winner.

The tournament, which attracted 1,328 entrants over a trio of starting flights, is offering up a $12,483,200 prize pool to the top 134 finishers. A min-cash being worth $25,091 while the eventual winner will walk away with a $2,018,866 first-place prize and the runner-up receiving a $1,248,886 consolation prize. The bubble will burst on Wednesday’s Day 3, but before that day 2c needs to play out on Tuesday.

Among those returning for Day 2c are five Poker Hall of Famers in John Hennigan (120,000), Jack McClelland (99,500), Daniel Negreanu (77,500), Erik Seidel (8,000), and Johnny Chan (36,500). Others returning include Matas Cimbolas (235,000), Anthony Zinno (169,000), Maria Konnikova (88,500), and Maria Ho (86,500).

PokerNews will be back to capture all the action, so be sure to join us then as the 2021 Wynn Millions rolls on.
