Laplante Sends Soderstrom to the Rail
Ryan Laplante opened for 1,600 from the hijack and David "ODB" Baker called from the cutoff. Tomas Soderstrom then three-bet jammed all in for 14,300 from the big blind and Laplante called. Baker got out of the way and the cards were turned on their backs.
Ryan Laplante:
Tomas Soderstrom:
Laplante was ahead but Soderstrom was drawing to two live cards. Fortunately for Laplante, the board ran out a lowly and his ace-high took down the pot.
Soderstrom isn't done though as he immediately opted to re-enter the tournament.

Off to the Races: Levin vs. Magnus
Garry Gates opened for 2,500 from early position and Jeremy Levin called from middle position. Nadya Magnus then three-bet all in for 22,900 from the big blind and Gates quickly folded. Levin thought for a bit and opted to call.
Nadya Magnus:
Jeremy Levin:
It was a race and Magnus was looking to hold to stay alive. Unfortunately for her, that proved easier said than done as the flop hit Levin. Neither the turn nor river helped Magnus and she took her leave, though it appeared as if she was headed to the registration desk to jump back into action.

Baldwin Shot Down
A preflop raising war resulted in Brandon Eisen getting his stack of 52,900 all in preflop against Las Vegas grinder Eric Baldwin, formerly of Wisconsin.
Brandon Eisen:
Eric Baldwin:
Eisen had the better pocket pair and he shipped the double after the board ran out . Baldwin was left with just 2,100 after the hand, but he was unable to spin it up going bust in the very next hand.

Loeser Climbing
Manig Loeser raised to 2,400 from middle position and the player in the small blind called. Lee Markholt got out of the way from the big and it was heads-up action to the flop.
The player in the small blind check-called a bet of 2,500 and then checked again on the turn.
Loeser kept the pressure on with a bet of 6,000 and that did the trick as he opponent quickly folded.
