Vayo Takes from Cheong

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Gordon Vayo raised to 4,500 from early position and Joseph Cheong defended his big blind to see a {6-Spades}{a-Spades}{8-Spades} all-spade flop.

Cheong check-called a bet of 4,000 before both players checked the {7-Clubs} turn. When the {k-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Cheong checked for the third time and Vayo bet 15,000.

That did the trick as Cheong released his hand.

Cai Catches Queens

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Kai Cai raised to 4,500 from under-the-gun, Marco Palacios three-bet shoved, and with action back on Cai he made the call and the two players tabled their hands.

Marco Palacios: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Kai Cai: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, which kept Cai in the lead. After the dealer counted down the almost-identical chip stacks Palacios was left with a single T500 chip and was eliminated a few hands later.

Shorr Triples Up

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Shannon Shorr raised to 5,000 from the hijack, Aneris Adomkevicius three-bet to 12,500 from the cutoff and Chris Ryan then four-bet to 35,000 from the button.

With action back on Shorr he then shoved his remaining 35,000, which sent Adomkevicius deep into the tank. After a clock was called Adomkevicius made the call, which was followed by a quick call from Ryan.

Adomkevicius checked the {8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop, Ryan bet 35,000, Adomkevicius folded and the two remaining players tabled their hands.

Shannon Shorr: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Chris Ryan: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Shorr had a dominating overpair and nothing changed on the {9-Clubs} turn or {6-Hearts} river, which secured him a much-needed triple up.

We caught the preflop action with three players all in just as the dealer was spreading the flop.

Ryan Laplante; {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Taylor Hale: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Denise Pratt: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Laplante had the dominating hand and dominating chip stack, but that all changed on the {j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop. The {4-Diamonds} turn and {8-Spades} river secured the triple-up for Pratt, eliminated Hale and put a slight dent in Laplante's chip stack.

Stan Jablonski on Day 1
Stan Jablonski on Day 1

Marc MacDonnell jumped back into action but his latest bullet didn't last long.

He got his stack of 45,000 all in preflop and was at risk against Stan Jablonski.

Marc MacDonnell: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Stan Jablonski: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

MacDonnell was looking to get lucky but failed to do so when the board ran out an unhelpful {k-}{5-}{7-}{8-}{9-}.
