Betbesé Set Up by Chua

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Nicolás Betbesé
Nicolás Betbesé

A series of preflop raises saw Nicolás Betbesé call off his 1,130,000 stack from the cutoff after Ryan Chua jammed for 1,160,000 from the small blind.

Nicolás Betbesé: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Ryan Chua: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Betbesé had Chua right where he wanted him until the {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop came crashing down giving Chua a set of tens.

The {a-Diamonds} turn wasn't the worse card for Betbesé as it gave him a Broadway draw but the {a-Clubs} paired the board on the river and ended his tournament.

Phachara Wongwichit raised to 85,000 from late position and then called the 750,000 three-bet jam Valerie Novak made directly to his left.

Valerie Novak: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Phachara Wongwichit: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Novak was racing for her tournament and took the lead after the {j-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop paired her king while also giving her a Royal Flush draw.

The {q-Spades} paired the board on the turn and the {8-Diamonds} river didn't give her a Royal Flush but did secure her double-up.

Smith Calls Clock, Halverson Pays

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Chris Smith
Chris Smith

While players were on break there was still a hand being played out against Mitchell Halverson from the hijack and Chris Smith from the button.

With 200,000 in the middle and a completed board of {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs} showing, Halverson led out for 250,000 only to be faced with a 1,195,000 all in raise from Smith.

After over five minutes had past, Smith called a clock and Halverson called after the countdown started.

Smith quickly rolled over {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a full house and collected the double-up after Halverson mucked his hand.

Waxman Finds Quadruple Up, Moorman Doubles Through O'Hara

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Ian O'Hara raised to 60,000 from middle position and Mat Waxman three-bet jammed for 360,000 directly to his left.

Action was on the cutoff player who called only to have Chris Moorman four-bet over the top for 900,000. Action was back on O'Hara who isolated after he came over the top for 1,495,000 and the three players tabled their hands.

Matt Waxman: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Chris Moorman: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Ian O'Hara: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Moorman held the best hand until an ace appeared in the window on the {3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop.

Both the {2-Clubs} turn and {5-Diamonds} river were meaningless as Waxman collected the main pot while Moorman collected a double-up of 595,000 from O'Hara.

Betbesé Doubles After Race

Level 22 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Nico Betbese
Nico Betbese

A player from early position open-jammed for 625,000 and action folded to Nicolás Betbesé who called off his 600,000 stack from the button.

Nicolás Betbesé: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Betbesé was ahead with his made hand of sevens but the {2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop gave him a little sweat as it gave his opponent a Wheel draw.

The board paired with the {2-Hearts} on the turn and luckily for Betbesé, he faded the river as the {8-Clubs} fell securing his double-up.
