Who Will Make the Money on Day 2 of the Wynn Fall Classic $3,500 Championship?

Wynn
Wynn

Welcome to Day 2 of the Wynn Fall Classic $3,500 Championship!

Day 1a saw 56 players advance from the first starting flight with 101 survivors from Days 1b and today, they will be joined by the 157 players who made it through on Day 1c. The time has arrived for the 314 surviving players to combine all under one roof.

At 12 p.m. PT, those 314 players that are still in contention from the 1,775 total entries will battle it out for the lion's share of the $5,724,375 prize pool.

The top 188 players will make it into the money meaning over 100 will be leaving empty-handed today. Entering Day 2 with the chip lead is Naor Slobodskoy, who bagged a whopping 679,000 on Day 1a.

Players in the top ten all hold comfortable stacks with each of the top five sitting with over 100 big blinds. That doesn't mean there are not plenty of formidable contenders still left in the field, Scott Hempel (429,000), Nadya Magnus (423,000), Ali Imsirovic (403,000), Brian Hastings (402,000) and Ryan Riess (319,000) will make their way up the mountain in hopes of making a deep run.

While the latter sits comfortably, an uphill battle is in store for WSOP bracelet winners Vladimir Peck (120,000), Damian Salas (119,00), Chris Moorman (110,000), Justin Saliba (88,000), Steve Zolotow (66,000), and Adrian Buckley (43,000) if they wish to make it into the money here on Day 3.

Day 2 Schedule

Play will begin at noon local time, with blinds picking up at Level 16 where blinds will be 3,000/6,000/6,000. The plan is to play a total of ten 60-minute levels with a 10-minute break between every two levels.

End of Day

At the end of 10 levels, all remaining players will bag up for the night and return for Day 3 on Tuesday, November 2 at noon local time.

There will be 314 players returning for Day 2 action, and only 188 spots will be grabbing a piece of the prize pool. With over 100 players needing to drop to reach the money and judging by the previous flights, the tournament should retain the action-filled play that has been up to this point.

After the money is reached, a min-cash of $7,860 will be distributed with each payouts increasing until the eventual champion earns themselves $812,270.

Early Double for Del Vecchio

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

In one of the first hands of the day, Katie Lindsay opened with a raise from early position and was met by a three-bet all-in jam for 51,000 from Mike Del Vecchio in middle position. The rest of the players folded and Lindsay snap-called.

Katie Lindsay: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Mike Del Vecchio: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Del Vecchio was in a bad spot but got lucky when the {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop delivered him a set. Neither the {j-Diamonds} turn nor {5-Hearts} river changed a thing and Del Vecchio stayed alive.

Bojang First to Fall

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Mike Lang raised from early position and then called the 67,000 three-bet jam Ismael Bojang made from the big blind.

Ismael Bojang: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Mike Lang: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Bojang was ahead with his made hand of jacks until an ace appeared in the window on the {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop.

The {3-Diamonds} turn left Bojang needing a jack but the {a-Hearts} completed the board on the river and ended his tournament.

Tardif Wakes Up With Aces, Doubles Through Andrade

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action folded to Patrick Tardif who raised all in for 75,000 from the button and Gabriel Andrade called from the big blind.

Patrick Tardif: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Gabriel Andrade: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Tardif was ahead with his aces and took a commanding lead after the {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop gave him top set.

The {7-Hearts} turn secured Tardif the pot as it left Andrade drawing dead and Tardif collected his after the {9-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Hrabec and Cohn Off to the Races

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Matthew Cohn moved all in for 71,000 from early position and Roman Hrabec called a few spots over. The rest of the players folded and it was off to the races.

Roman Hrabec: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Matthew Cohn: {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

It was a flip and Cohn needed to improve to stay alive. The {3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop didn't do him any favors but the {k-Spades} turn did as he paired up to take the lead. The {10-Hearts} river was a brick and an elated Cohn stacked the pot.
