Kempton Leads 16 Players in Wynn Millions as Day 4 Wraps; Moreno Out

Day 4 of the 2022 Wynn Millions Main Event wrapped up on Wednesday evening after nearly eight hours of play with Isaac Kempton in front of the 16 remaining players with a stack of 5,615,000.

The day began with 54 players in a tournament that attracted a total of 1,075 runners to generate $10,105,000 in prize money. Kempton will return on Thursday, March 10 at noon local time to compete against fellow big stacks Ian Matakis (5,030,000), Michael Stembera (4,225,000), Tony Sinishtaj (4,065,000) and Vanessa Kade (3,575,000).

Other players who found bags on Day 4 of the Wynn Millions Main Event include Daniel Moran (2,620,000), Shaun Deeb (2,495,000), Alex Livingston (2,270,000), Sean Perry (2,090,000), Sylvain Loosli (1,605,000) and Thomas Boivin (1,250,000).

Defending champion Andrew Moreno, who took down the inaugural 2021 Wynn Millions Main Event for $1,460,106 after a three-way deal, made a deep run that extended late into the fourth day of play. Unfortunately for Moreno, his title-defending run was cut short when his pocket kings were cracked by the ace-queen of Kempton.

While Moreno was unable to earn his second career seven-figure score, his 23rd-place finish earned him a payday of $71,657.

Sofia Lovgren was the final player eliminated on Day 4 when she got it in with king-three against the jack-nine of Perry. A king on the turn gave Lovgren the best hand, but the river improved Perry to trips to win the pot.

It was a common storyline for Perry, who spiked a handful of fortunate turns and rivers throughout the day to stay alive and eliminate opponents.

Other players who didn't survive the day include Sam Soverel, Brock Wilson, Chad Eveslage, Chino Rheem and Jesse Sylvia.

Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team will be back tomorrow to bring you updates of the Day 5 action.
