Andrews Finds River Call

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With over 40,000 in the pot on a {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts} completed board, the big blind jammed to put Cherish Andrews to the test in early position.

Andrews thought about it and eventually put in her remaining 33,100 chips.

The big blind could only turn over {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a missed straight draw, while Andrews tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} to claim the pot and add to her stack.

Kade Cracks Aces

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Vanessa Kade
Vanessa Kade

A player in the small blind, who did not wish to be named, limped and Vanessa Kade checked her option in the big blind to send the two heads-up to the flop.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and the small blind checked. Kade bet 1,000 and was called.

The small blind player checked for a second time on the {7-Spades} turn. Kade, unwilling to slow down, fired off another bet, this time 3,500. After eyeing up her stack, the small blind called.

On the {9-Hearts} river the small blind checked once again and faced a shove for 10,500 from Kade. The small blind player put his hands on his head as he appeared somewhat distressed before making the call. Kade turned over {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for flopped trips while the small blind revealed he had been slowplaying aces. "It's my fault, no one else to blame," said the small blind player as he saw a decent portion of his stack head Kade's way.

Lerner Sends Elias to the Rail

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Darren Elias
Darren Elias

Steven Lerner opened to 2,500 from the cutoff and Darren Elias shoved for 15,200 out of the small blind. The big blind folded to send the action back to Lerner, who, after asking for a count, made the call with the bigger stack to put Elias at risk.

Darren Elias: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Steven Lerner: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

It was a race for Elias' tournament life, one in which he fell distinctly behind following the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop. The {4-Clubs} turn and {a-Diamonds} river brought no help to the four-time WPT champion, sending him out of the tournament just before the dinner break.

Plesuv Shows One

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With roughly 10,000 in the pot on a {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop, Pavel Plesuv checked the small blind, a player bet 3,000 in early position, Alexandros Theologis folded on the button, and Plesuv raised to 10,000. The early position player called.

Plesuv led with a bet on the {10-Spades} turn, causing his opponent to quickly fold.

Following an apparent table tradition of revealing a card of the winning hand, a player flipped over one of Plesuv's cards to reveal the {k-Clubs}.

"A king?" asked Theologis. "We got him, guys. We got him."
