Romero Aggressively Takes Pot

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a pot of 13,000 on a board showing {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, James Romero checked from the big blind to the cutoff who bet out 5,000. Romero called and the {7-Clubs} hit the turn. Both players checked their options to the {2-Diamonds} river and once again play was checked to a showdown.

Romero jokingly slammed down his cards into the board and grabbed the pot. The dealer had to reconstruct the hand and saw that Romero had {7-Hearts}{6-Spades} for a pair of sevens. His opponent laughed at the funny antics of Romero who had already collected the pot somehow knowing his hand was best.

Ziff Can't Say No

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Samuel Laskowitz raised to 4,500 in middle position and Cliff Ziff defended the big blind after some contemplation but only because it was his "lucky dealer". The flop came {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Ziff checked to Laskowitz who bet the minimum of 2,000.

"Can't say no to that," Ziff said as he threw in a call. The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and Ziff led out with a large bet of 15,000 which Laskowitz called.

Ziff then checked blind as the {7-Spades} completed the board. Laskowitz checked it back and Ziff tabled {q-Spades}{4-Spades} for a straight to scoop the pot.

Miller Picks Off Bluff From Palma

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

In a heads-up pot with close to 5,000 in the middle on a board showing {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, Jordyn Miller checked from the small blind to Nick Palma in the big blind who bet out 3,500 from under the gun. Miller took a few seconds before making the call and the {9-Clubs} peeled off on the river.

Miller checked again and Palma tossed out a single 5,000-chip. Miller quickly made the call and the cards were shown. Palma tabled {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw and Miller scored the pot with {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for top pair.

"What a cooler," joked Palma as Miller collected the pot.

One Foxen Out, The Other Working a Short Stack

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Kristen Foxen
Kristen Foxen

With her husband standing nearby having just been eliminated, Kristen Foxen raised to 3,000 from under the gun. David "Bakes" Baker called on her left and they went heads-up to a flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Both players checked and the {3-Hearts} landed on the turn. Foxen led out with a bet of 5,500 and Baker called to see the {2-Clubs} on the river. Foxen fired out another bet of 12,500 and that proved to be enough to get Baker to fold.

Kornuth Gets Thin Value

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The action folded around to the small blind who limped in and Chance Kornuth bumped it up to 5,500, which the small blind called.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and both players checked their options to the {5-Hearts} turn. The small blind checked again and Kornuth came with a sizing of 4,000, which was called.

On the {4-Spades} river the small blind checked a third time and Kornuth assembled a bet of 12,500. The small blind took some time before eventually tossing in chips for the call. Kornuth rolled over {j-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a pair of fives and took down the pot when his opponent mucked their hand.

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

There was a raise to 3,500 in the hijack and Alex Foxen three-bet to 11,500 out of the big blind. His opponent called and the flop came {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Foxen continued with a small bet of 4,500 and his opponent called.

The turn was the {j-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {5-Hearts} on the river. Foxen tossed in a bet of 8,000 and his opponent jammed all in. Foxen instantly folded, leaving himself with just 17,000 chips after the hand.

Dyer Continues To Climb

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

In a heads-up pot with close to 20,000 in the middle on a board showing {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Michael Dyer bet out 15,000 from middle position and Shannon Shorr made the call on the button.

The {6-Diamonds} peeled off on the river and Dyer took a few seconds before moving all in, covering the remaining 65,000 for Shorr, who went in the tank.

After some thought, Shorr let his cards go and the pot was sent to the overwhelming chip leader.
