Jewell Can't Get Rid of Schumacher

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

John Ypma raised to 500 in the cutoff and was called by Johan Schumacher and Kurt Jewell in the blinds. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and the action checked to Ypma who continued with a bet of 600. Schumacher called but Jewell check-raised to 3,000. Ypma quickly folded but Schumacher still called.

The turn was the {5-Spades} which slowed down the action as both players checked to the {j-Diamonds} on the river. Schumacher led out with a bet of 5,000 and Jewell wasted little time before sending his cards to the muck.

Adkins Gets Value On River

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The action was picked up in a heads-up pot with 7,300 in the middle on a board showing {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Jay Adkins checked his option from the cutoff and the button checked back.

The {3-Clubs} completed the board and Adkins assembled a bet of 2,200. The button took a few seconds before tossing in chips for the call. Adkins rolled over {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens and the button mucked his cards.

Friedman Picking Up Monsters

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The action was opened to 500 from the cutoff and Sherri Friedman put in a three-bet next to act on the button. The small blind made the call, as well as the initial raiser.

The flop came {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and action checked around to Friedman who continued for 2,000. Both the small blind and the cutoff quickly folded.

Friedman collected the pot and tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} to show how strong of a hand she had.

"Wow aces then kings the very next hand," said a tablemate as Friedman stacked her chips and smiled.

Baker Takes Early Three-Bet Pot

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The action started when an under-the-gun player opened for 500 and Bryan Piccioli called from the hijack. The button called as well and Joel Baker elected on a three-bet to 2,100 from the small blind. Only Piccioli made the call and the dealer fanned out a flop of {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.
