Some to cash but fail to survive the end of day were Kathy Liebert (128th - $8,386), Vanessa Kade (113th - $9,056), Lily Kiletto (109th - $9,056), Evan Sandberg (104th - $9,808), Rick Biever (92nd - $10,642), Kevin Javier (86th - $11,600), Nick Palma (63rd - $14,036), and Marty Mathis (62nd - $15,509).

Ziff Spikes the River to Score Huge Pot

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Cliff Ziff
Cliff Ziff

Mark Seif and Cliff Ziff were heads-up in a pot with around 500,000 in the middle. A completed board of {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Diamonds} was spread across the felt and Seif made a pot-sized bet of 500,000 on the river.

Ziff jammed all in for 1,785,000 and Seif wasted little time calling, making it the pot of the tournament thus far. Ziff turned over {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} for a full house while Seif flashed his {k-}{k-} before they went into the muck.

After the hand, Seif was left with just 180,000 chips and was seen leaving the tournament area shortly after.

Pedro Ingles
Pedro Ingles

The action folded to Pedro Ingles on the button who opened for 55,000 and Paul Snead bumped it up in the big blind for 175,000. Ingles moved all in for 610,000 total and Snead made the call with a slightly bigger stack.

Pedro Ingles: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Paul Snead: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Snead was in need of help against the big slick for Ingles and when the board ran out {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}, the ace-king held up to score a full double up and leave Snead with only 40,000.

On the next hand, Snead would get his remaining chips in the middle and couldn't find improvement, sending him to the rail in 41st place.

Yuval Bronshtein
Yuval Bronshtein

The action was picked up in a pot of roughly 600,000 on a completed board showing {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Curt Kohlberg checked from the big blind to Yuval Bronshtein in early position who took some time before sliding out a bet of 205,000, leaving only 70,000 behind.

Kohlberg went deep in the tank, and after several minutes, Bronshtein called the clock on Kohlberg who was given 30 more seconds to act on his hand.

With only two seconds remaining, Kohlberg made the call and Bronshtein confidently tabled {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the nine-high straight to take down the sizable pot.

Frank Stepuchin

Frank Stepuchin: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Mitchell Halverson: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The flop of {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} left Halverson in the lead but the {7-Clubs} on the turn gave Stepuchin some more outs. However, the {a-Spades} on the river bricked out and Stepuchin was sent to the payout desk.

Mark Zajdner
Mark Zajdner

The action folded to Mark Zajdner in the hijack who opened for 60,000 and only Michael Dyer called in the cutoff.

"Same two all the time," said Zajdner to Dyer before the dealer fanned out the flop of {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Both players checked their options to the {6-Clubs} turn where again the action went check-check.

The {k-Diamonds} completed the board and Zajdner checked a third time. Dyer tossed out a bet of 40,000 and Zajdner elected on a check-raise to 250,000. Dyer quickly folded and Zajdner stood up and tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for only a pair of fives.

"I finally got him one hand! "I finally bluffed him," exclaimed Zajdner as he collected the pot.
