Latest Videos with Mark Seif

Mark Seif got his start playing poker when he pulled up a chair in his parents’ home game. He grew as a poker player through the years and while attending college at UCLA, took his first shot in a casino. From then on, Seif was hooked for life on the game. He finished up with college and graduated from UCLA in 1991 with an economics degree. From there, he attended Loyola Law School in L.A. and graduated in the top ten percent of his class.

What many people may not know is that during the OJ Simpson trial, Seif was in charge of writing a portion of the case against Simpson. This was all due to his excellence in school and a special internship he landed. After law school, Mark took up a job working for a law firm, but quit in 2001 to pursue poker full time.

Just shortly after making poker his full-time professional, Seif took down an event at the Legends of Poker in L.A. for over $50,000. He also finished fourth in the $5,000 Championship Event there for nearly $40,000. The following year, Seif had two big wins. First, he won a $500 No-Limit Hold’em event for just shy of $100,000 and later he won a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event at the Festa al Lago for over $90,000. In 2004, Seif took down another big score at the Legends of Poker for over $135,000. Surely, Mark was off to an awesome start to his career.

When 2005 rolled around, Seif was ready to go when he took to the WSOP that summer. He cashed in three events, but that’s not even the half of it. Seif won two bracelets that year. He took down the $1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout and $181,330 and then won the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event for a whopping $611,145. He also won a seven-card stud event at the United States Poker Championship that year and final tabled the World Championship of Online Poker.

Over the next few years, Seif would add more and more cashes to his resume. In March of 2007, he scored fourth in the World Poker Challenge in Reno for nearly $160,000. In 2008 at the Borgata Poker Open in Atlantic City, Mark took fifth for $287,500. He also cashed twice in the WSOP during 2008.

Seif has over $2.3 million in career tournament earnings. He’s a spokesman for Absolute Poker and has also been a commentator for the Professional Poker Tour.
