Jeremy Eyer Takes Down Wynn Millions $1,600 NLH $1,000,000 GTD
Jeremy Eyer came out on top in the Wynn Millions $1,600 No-Limit Hold’em $1,000,000 GTD at Wynn Las Vegas, defeating Ryan Leng heads-up to win $207,744 and his first title at the Wynn.
The win pushes the WSOP bracelet winner past $2.2 million in live tournament earnings and stands as the second-largest score of his career, behind only his victory in the $5,000 Freezeout at the 2023 World Series of Poker.
The tournament drew 781 entries and created a prize pool of $1,116,830.
Leng started the final table as the clear chip leader and at one point looked like he might run away with it when just a handful of players remained. But things shifted when his ace-nine couldn't get there against Andrew Brinkley’s pocket sevens, giving the rest of the table some breathing room.
Eyer then got involved in one of the wildest hands of the final table against Kenneth Einiger.
Both players flopped trips and the chips quickly piled into the middle. Eyer was dominated and looked destined to lose a huge pot, but the board double-paired on the turn and the river gave him the better full house, sending Einiger out in fourth.
It wasn’t all run good, though. Eyer proved his sharp instincts, making a king-high hero call against Brinkley during three-handed play, sliding in the chips only to see Brinkley sheepishly announce "queen-high."
Brinkley soon followed in third, leaving Eyer with better than a 2:1 chip lead over Leng going into heads-up play.
From there, things moved quickly. Eyer kept the pressure on and closed it out to claim one of the biggest prizes handed out at Wynn Millions.
Speaking with PokerNews after the win, Eyer admitted the cards certainly helped along the way.
“Everything today just kind of lined up,” he said. “I knocked out three of the short stacks and basically got heads up and ran even better there. That’s how you win a tournament — you run good.”
