Event 43 - $2,000 Limit Holdem

Day 3 Completed

Saif Ahmad Wins the $2,000 Limit Hold-Em Championship

Unstoppable. That was Saif Ahmad during the heads-up match. He won every big hand, including the last one. Jensen raised before the flop and Ahmad called, and they saw a flop of {J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Jensen bet the last of his chips and Ahmad called. Jensen showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for two pair, Ahmad held...{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

The {10-Spades} on the turn gave Ahmad an open-ended straight draw, and on the river he spiked the {A-Spades} to end cruelly William Jensen's day. As our runner-up, Jensen wins $133,151, but that Ace of Spades on the river gave the title, the $217,329 first place money, and the World Series of Poker bracelet to Saif Ahmad.

Ahmad Again

After the betting was capped preflop the two players saw a {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Spades} flop. Jensen check-called a bet and did the same after the {Q-Diamonds} turned. The {3-Clubs} fell on the river and Jensen called another of Ahmad's big bets. Saif turned over {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and won another huge pot that left Jensen with just 400K.

Tilted Table

Ahmad just won another big pot, when Jensen raised and Ahmad three-bet before the {2-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop. Jensen called Ahmad's bet and a big bet after the {J-Diamonds} on the turn, but Jensen folded when Saif led out after the {6-Clubs} on the river.

Another Big Pot for Ahmad

Ahmad called Jensen's raise in the big blind and check-raised Jensen after the {2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. Jensen called, and when the {9-Hearts} turned he raised Ahmad's 30K bet. Ahmad called and then led out when the {5-Hearts} hit on the river. Jensen called and could only wave his hand in resignation as Ahmad tabled {5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for trips.

First Blood

After a {J-Hearts}{2-Spades}{K-Clubs} flop Ahmad check-called Jensen's bet, then check-raised Jensen after the {Q-Spades} turned. Jensen called and led out again after the {4-Clubs} hit on the turn. Ahmad called and showed the {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, making a pair on the river, and Jensen mucked.

Let's Get Started

The players have returned and there's something on the felt besides their chips. And that's the World Series of Poker bracelet they're playing for.

Michael Graffeo Is Eliminated in 3rd Place

After being very active early on Michael Graffeo saw his stack dwindle while Saif Ahmad and William Jensen ratcheted up the aggression. On the button he raised and Jensen called in the big blind, and they saw a {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop. Jensen led out and Graffeo raised for the last of his chips.

He showed {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, but Jensen had outflopped him with {K-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Neither the {7-Spades} on the turn nor the {6-Diamonds} on the river helped his hand, and for his 3rd place finish Graffeo wins $88,481.
